Secret Southampton is the latest video released by Southampton Football Club to give their supporters an insight into the football club, the truth is out there !

Saints have released another video with a different twist with the first episode of 'Secret Southampton' appearing on the Club's website on Friday.

‘Secret Southampton’ takes viewers behind the scenes at the club’s mysterious Staplewood training centre, with a unique look at the centre responsible for nurturing some of the UK’s most promising young players.

To coincide with the arrival of Stranger Things season two, the tongue-in-cheek, sci-fi themed videos feature Investigator Robert Crust infiltrating the highly secretive Staplewood training ground on the south coast and showcasing facilities used in the club’s highly-regarded player development programme, including the Sports Medicine and Science Centre and the ‘Black Box’.

Spread over three episodes the aim from the club is to do something different whilst at the same time informing supporters about aspects behind the scenes that they would normally not see.

Certainly over the past couple of seasons the spoof videos put out by the club have not only raised it's profile amongst its own fans, but across the World with the club reporting that it has had an upsurge in interest in the club from football fans as far away as the USA and Far East having watched the video.

This has helped the club develop it's profile in World football and that can only be a good thing.

The latest film was previewed at Staplewood in front of members of the media as well as supporters earlier in the week, popcorn was munched before Les Reed outlined the club's strategy and then all were given a tour of the facilities featuring in the film.

OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD SIGHTINGS REPORTED AT SOUTHAMPTON FC TRAINING CENTRE

- Investigator Robert Crust, Saints stars and staff feature in supernatural video providing a sneak peek at the club’s extraordinary player development facilities -

Thursday 27th October, Southampton - Southampton Football Club has today opened the doors to its mysterious Staplewood training centre with a new video taking the viewer behind the scenes of the club’s world-renowned player development facilities.

To coincide with the arrival of Stranger Things season two, the sci-fi themed video features Investigator Robert Crust as he infiltrates the highly secretive Staplewood training ground on the south coast to take a closer look at the state-of-the-art facilities, usually kept under lock and key.

As his mission progresses, Crust comes into close contact with a number of startling findings that leave him certain that these could be the work of a supernatural power.

Lifting the lid on the renowned player development centre, responsible for nurturing international players including Gareth Bale and James Ward-Prowse, the video showcases a range of new innovative additions designed to build upon the success of the club’s highly-regarded player development programme.

The advanced facilities on show include:

Sports Medicine and Science Centre — specialist facility that’s focused on ensuring players are optimally conditioned and robust enough to withstand a physically rigorous training and match schedule, as well as bringing back players from injury as quickly and effectively as possible.

The ‘Black Box’ - a bespoke programme developed to track and monitor players’ and scouts’ outputs to ensure that Southampton FC are acquiring leading talent with the potential to thrive at the club in the future.

Indoor Training Dome - maintaining the club’s best-in-class environment for player development, the indoor facility enables players to train in optimal conditions at all times of the year, no matter the weather.

Robert Crust commented,

“I’ve spoken with the club, and it all now makes sense. All the evidence pointed to some extra-terrestrial activity taking place at Staplewood, but I now understand that it’s all part of a bigger plan. Who would of thought this could have existed in this day and age?”

Les Reed, Vice Chairman, Southampton FC commented,

“At Southampton Football Club, we are very proud of consistently nurturing top talent. The further development and innovation of our facilities is a commitment to continuing to build this for the future success of the club. Our ambition is to offer an environment that provides the opportunity for young players to develop and reach their full potential, as well as having a major impact on the club and its future achievements.”

Les Reed says "we are very proud of consistently nurturing top talent". We don't seem to have bought any top young players for the academy
recently.
He talks about future success , what about now please Les?
Les talks about "opportunity for young players to develop and reach their full potential". The last player that reached his full potential from the academy was Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Les, retire please and stop blustering piffle.

TBH, I have passed Staplewood about 10,000 times over the past goodness knows how many years and never once been curious enough to want to know what goes on in there simply because it's flaming obvious.

The stuff I want to know about is what goes on in the bloody boardroom!

Now I've watched the videos...

...they are just plain embarrassing. Can the Club really believe this will help the their profile. What is even more infantile than them believing that fans will appreciate the videos is that they spent club money making the wretched things.

No wonder we're 10th in the league and not 3rd, the Club seems to have got its priorities arse about face.

Let the football do the talking!

And good to see another person Saint B who hasn't been brainwashed by Les's mesmeric PR onslaught.

If you find those videos embarrassing you've obviously not heard that bloody awful My Way dirge blaring out before kick off.

Now that? THAT'S embarrassing.
