Yoshida doesn't seem popular with everyone on this site, but he has an honest approach to the club (his employer) and yet he is still not regarded as a permanent fixture. He is captain , when Davis is out, yet maynot even be playing the next match. He did a fairly good job when VvD was out injured -and even brought on Stephens very well, but neither of them should ever be asked to play at full back, they are both better CB's. Hoedt is improving but still has a lot to learn about the Prem. and Hojbjerg has been given his chance (at last), but Lemina is still searchinmg for his role. Romeu is off pace after his excellent last season, but I really don't want to look for more negatives to describe Nathan Redmond's performances. (!) Three of our "best players" out injured and if there is an African Tournament in January ? ..then we may lose the services of Lemina and Boufal when we need them most. If VvD does finally go, even any new signings suddenly won't appear like Superman to save the World. Rather than pandering to some over-paid "supertsars" I'd be just as content to see the likes of McQueen, Hesketh and Josh Sims given a run out. Right now they couldn't be much worse. I wonder if there is a genuine language problem in the club?. People say the language of football is international, but certain tactical ideas may be hard for some to understand and I wasn't surprised to hear the limited vocabulary used by Boufal a while back, and Lemina wasn't much better and Gabbiadini's short interview was via a translator. If we must rely on certain players for theri skills, they need to know what the rest of the team is (supposed to be) doing, too. Clearly team morale is at a low and although I think MP may have good footballing brain, he needs to kick a few a**es, as the only real punishment he can impose ....is to drop someone to the bench. | |
