2018/19 Saints Fixture List Released
Thursday, 14th Jun 2018 09:21

Saints kick off with a home game against Burnley and end with a another home game against Huddersfield, but who do they have inbetween.

After hosting Burnley Saints then travel to Everton and follow that with a home game against Leicester and a trip to Crystal Palace in what is a fairly average start to the season.

Brighton visit on 15th September and then we get our second visit to Liverpool out of the way on 22nd September.

December will be busy starting with the visit of Man Utd and a trip to Spurs in midweek, on Boxing Day we will host West Ham and then on the 29th Manchester City at home and we start 2019 with a new Years Day trip to Chelsea.

We end the season the season with a trip to West Ham and then on the final day host Huddersfield Town

Opening with Burnley won't be easy - they'll be in the swing of things as they'll have played European games - but that looks on paper like a pretty good set of fixtures. Huddersfield to end the season, no very difficult months, reasonable start to the season. Happy.

P.s. Why on earth is the cover photo for this article those absolute idiots who ran onto the pitch at the end of the season?

On paper, this set of fixtures is about as well-balanced as we could have hoped for. The team simply needs to turn up from the off and we'll be safe by the end of February at worst and, at best, challenging for Europe as the season closes. That, however, is what I thought last year!

Last season we hoped to get off to a good start too. Hopefully this time we do.

Burnley (H) last season . lost 0-1 ...despite 63% possession and 13 shots to 5.

Everton (A)..perhaps if that game only lasts 95 minutes we might get all 3 points this time.

otherwise looks to be a fairly-balanced programme, but all those games in December (?) might put some extra stress on the squad.
