Perhaps the most famous boot in the history of Southampton Football Club it has never been seen in public since 1976 and you can see it for the final month of the Saints Exhibition at the Sea City Museum.

The most famous goal in the history of Southampton FC is undoubtedly the one scored by Bobby Stokes at Wembley on 1st May 1976 at approximately 4.45pm on that glorious afternoon.

There can be no doubt that this is the greatest goal after all it is the only one in our modern day history to actually win us a trophy.

The boot that scored it has not been seen in many a year, perhaps since the day or so after the FA Cup final itself and over time their whereabouts had been lost.

However they have been in the hands of a private collector and he has now stepped forward and kindly lent them to the Sea City Museum at the Civic Centre in Southampton for the final month of the exhibition on Southampton Football Club

If you haven't been yet there is now even more reason to go and if you have been then there is an excuse to pop back for a second time as perhaps these boots will not be seen in public again for a long long time.

The exhibition must end on 28th October so you will need to get down their fast.
