Ward Prowse Gets England Call Up Monday, 18th Mar 2019 10:15 James Ward Prowse is heading to the England training camp after being called up to replace Liverpool's Jordan Henderson who has had to withdraw from the squad due to injury. James Ward-Prowse has been called into the England squad for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Czech Republic and Montenegro. JWP who won his only senior cap in March 2017, will link up with the England squad at St George's Park on Monday afternoon Gareth Southgate will now begin his preparations with a squad of 23 players and said this when he initially omitted Ward Prowse last week. "We know there are some players just on the fringes that we wouldn't hesitate to call in, both in terms of their ability, but also in the case of a player like James Ward-Prowse and his character," he said. "He's absolutely the sort of character you want around the squad." Whether Ward Prowse will add to his solitary cap so far is questionable but he wouldn't be the first late call up to suddenly find himself in action.
