Saints V Huddersfield The Preview
Sunday, 12th May 2019 10:03

It's the last game of the season and it is a happy ending for Saints, they will be hoping to finish on a high and leave the fans looking forward to a better season next year after two of struggle.

Ralph Hasenhuttl has made it quite clear since relegation was mathematically avoided that his sole focus now is on planning for next season, there fore it is hard to predict the line up for the visit of Huddersfield Town.

The Terriers are rock bottom and hoping to avoid a couple of unwanted top flight records by winning at St Mary's, something they have not achieved since their last relegation from the top flight back in 1971/72/

So will Ralph go for a side that will go full out for the three points and in doing so have a good chance of moving up a place and gaining an extra £2 million in prize money or will he experiment ?

I'm guessing that although his options are limited in the centre of defence, he will put out a strong side although there might be the odd surprise or two thrown in for good measure.

It is a day of celebration though in what has been a season of two halves, a little over five months ago we were fearing the worst with a de motivated squad under performing with Mark Hughes in charge, we all knew the side was better than the results were showing but no one could have predicted the affect that Ralph Hasenhuttl would have on the team.

So we should enjoy it whilst it lasts, football is a very transient business these days with few players staying for long periods as they did in the past, for managers it is even more of a turnaround with the average shelf life being barely 2 years.

Personally I would rather see a manager leave because he has succeeded as in the case of Ronald Koeman than I would because he has failed.

The Ralph revolution is under way and hopefully we will finish with a flourish to give us the happy factor for the summer.

So in this ood of optimism at TUI Towers I am going so predict a hat trick for someone this afternoon, perhaps Danny Ings.

Last home game of the season against a club who had one of the worst Prem. seasons in recent years. Saints must impress Ralph, the fans and the media..ought to be 3-0 at least.

Nuff said.
