Saints Get First TV Fixture Changes For The Season
Friday, 5th Jul 2019 11:57

In the first round of games that will be broadcast on TV Saints have only had two fixtures moved and both are at home.

Surprisingly Saints opening home fixture against Liverpool on Saturday August 17th will remain in place, but the second game set for St Mary's against Manchester United on Saturday August 31st sees a change.

Although it will not change date, the game will now kick off at lunchtime 12.30.

The next change comes with the visit of Bournemouth, this has now been moved from Saturday 21st September to Friday 20th with an 8pm kick off.

Although a Friday evening game is disliked by most football supporters, from a Bournemouth perspective this is the most accessible of their fixtures to be moved to this time slot.

This takes the fixture list up to the end of September meaning that Saints will only have these two fixture changes and neither are major in the grand scheme of things.

Saints will not be affected y any changes made for those clubs in the Europa League, non of our fixtures against Man Utd, Arsenal or potentially Wolves in the Europa Group stages up to Xmas clash with us.

Just beggar's belief when the season hasn't even started. How many millions of man hours (and cash) have been spent on formulating the fixture list that supposedly takes into account every eventuality national and local?

Will have to wait and see before committing to our block of season tickets.
Also awaiting the abolishment of VAR, shirt pulling, diving and naff goal celebrations (not usually an issue for Saints).
