Hasenhuttl Says One Player Could Still Come In Thursday, 8th Aug 2019 14:20 Ralph Hasenhuttl has confirmed that Saints could yet complete a deal on an incoming transfer before the day is over with the club working hard on all fronts. With Sky Sports reporting that Charlie Austin is about to join West Brom for a £5 million fee on a 2 year deal, good business seeing that it is more than we paid for him 3 1/2 years ago Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is still hopeful that Saints can announce a signing before the end of the deadline. Hasenhuttl said: “The phone is hard working and there a lot of meetings in the back so I think we should wait. “It can be that one player is leaving us today and we still have players in our mind and maybe one is coming in. “It’s very busy behind the scenes." “We always speak about our possibilities and try to stay on track which means the baggage must be perfect for us. “We try to bring in players who have the perfect personality for our team which is what we have with Che Adams and Moussa Djenepo. “If we think the financial risk is ok then we will do it.” So there you have it, the club is still working hard to try and get something done, the departure of Charlie Austin will bring in a decent chunk to add to the kitty but more importantly will reduce the wage bill down significantly, Southampton waits with baited breath.
