Saints fans attending this afternoons match against Liverpool can get a free ice cream courtesy of Saints sponsor Virgin Media.

Saints supporters will be provided with free ice cream outside St Mary's before the game against Liverpool courtesy of Virgin Media.

The club's former shirt sponsor is still backing Saints in other ways and as a part of their 'Super Saints' initiative they have also hidden five golden tickets to their hospitality box for the Liverpool match in the ice cream wrappers.

Gill Worby, Head of Digital Marketing & Sponsorship and Partnerships at Virgin Media, said: “We are so excited about Southampton’s first home match of the season.

“To help Saints fans kick-off their season in style, we’re giving five lucky fans VIP access to our box to provide the ultimate match day experience. So I encourage Saints fans to get there early for a chance to join us.”

So the message is get your free ice cream, it is good to see a sponsor engaging with the real fans rather than just their own corporate clients.
