Final Three Fixtures Confirmed For Saints
Saturday, 4th Jul 2020 09:56

We all knew who we would be playing, but we were unsure when, now the last three fixtures of this extraordinary season have now been confirmed, read on for full details.

The first two fixtures are clashes with our neighbours along the South Coast, Brighton will visit St Mary's on Thursday, 16 July at 8.15pm

The tie against the Seagulls will be broadcast live on BT Sport when apart from the players and staff of Brighton, the only other Seagulls in the stadium will be the real ones who occasionally visit from the docks.

Next up will be the trip across the New Forest to take on relegation threatened Bournemouth, this is on Sunday 19th July with a 2pm kick off and again that will be on BT sport.

The worry for that game, is that being played on a Sunday afternoon that it will see a number of Saints fans make the trip down to Bournemouth to enjoy a day in the sun and a few beers even though they will be able to get nowhere near the stadium.

At the moment the Cherries look in a desperate position, with home games against Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City sandwiched between trips to both Manchester United and City ahead of this game, at time of writing the Saints game could see Bournemouth relegated if other results go against them, tensions will be high.

The final day of the season and our match against Sheffield United is the following week on Sunday July 26th and that is set for a 4pm kick off, as will all the other games on that day.

As of yet there is no confirmation of which channels will broadcast which games, this will be announced a bit nearer the time when the games with anything still to play for become clear.

With our injury problems, facing Brighton and Bournemouth with just 2 days in between is going to be tough. Bournemouth will have an extra day to prepare and will probably rest their best players for the away trip to Man City anyway. Doing the double over Saints will be their main target.
