Season Ticket Renewal Discount Ends Today.
Wednesday, 2nd Sep 2020 08:55

The deadline for Saints fans to renew their Season Ticket for the 2020/21 campaign ends today (Wednesday), if you want to keep your existing seat and get the renewal discount then you need to act quickly,

Saints supporters have until 4pm on Wednesday afternoon to renew their season tickets and be guaranteed their existing seat as well as get a substantial discount on the normal price.

I have said this all summer, but this is a time for Supporters of any football club to support the team they love, not turn their backs at a time when like any other business due to this awful pandemic, it needs cash flow and that comes from the fans backing the club financially.

Those that renew won't lose out whilst fans are not allowed back into the games, they will receive a refund of the price for the game promptly.

Those who are vulnerable can also opt out of games and receive a refund when supporters return to the stadium with a reduced capacity.

Speaking to some people I have found that some fans are in effect cutting off their noses to spite their faces, they are not renewing because they say they won't be able to get in, despite the fact that the club have made the Price Promise to make "a direct refund for any fixture played behind closed doors or where a Season Ticket holder cannot attend due to reduced capacity. "

Firstly with only season ticket holders likely to get into grounds when fans are allowed to return with a reduced capacity, they will be losing out on the chance to see any games at all.

Secondly when they full crowds are allowed back, if they want to see a game they will be paying full price for the ticket.

Some are saying they will wait till Xmas and then buy a half season ticket, but the truth is that will be far dearer than renewing now and getting refunds.

Season ticket money is a vital form of income for football clubs under normal circumstances, even more so in this horrible time, of course there will be those who for one reason or another financially cannot renew their ticket even though they want to do so, but from my experience of talking to supporters who say they are not renewing it is a small proportion.

Existing Season Ticket holders can renew their Season Ticket for the new campaign from just £399 by calling 02381 780780 between 10am-4pm either today or tomorrow.

Alternatively, you can login to your online account, click on ‘Season Ticket renewals’ and your seat will be ready and waiting for purchase.

The club have once again frozen Season Ticket renewal prices and introduced The Saints Promise — a series of commitments designed to protect Season Ticket holders, including a direct refund for any fixture played behind closed doors or where a Season Ticket holder cannot attend due to reduced capacity.

You can find out the latest on the plans for returning to St Mary's below, including plans for Season Ticket holders who renew but are clinically vulnerable and unable to return straight away, and how people within social bubbles will be accommodated should there be reduced capacity matches. Further information will be released on this over the upcoming weeks.

Reduced capacity

It is highly likely there will be capacity restrictions when fans are first allowed back to stadium. The club have been working on a system which provides fair and equitable access, albeit weighted towards our most regular attendees, and will seek to give every Season Ticket Holder who wishes to attend a chance to do so within the first few games following supporters being allowed back into stadiums.

We are not in a position to confirm the extent to which capacity might be limited but will share this information with supporters as soon as we have it.

People at high risk (clinically vulnerable)

Although the government guidance for people at high risk has changed and they are no longer being advised to shield, the club do understand that some fans will not be comfortable returning to matches just yet, even with all the mitigating measures in place. In this circumstance, there will be an opportunity to opt out of any selection processes for returning to initial matches with reduced capacities. For the latest government guidance please click here.

Bubbles/groups

The Club are working to ensure that supporters can select their social bubbles in groups of up to six people from two households, and will need your help to understand more about your groups. In preparation for this, please ensure your friends and family list is up to date on your ticketing account.

Further information on how social bubbles are to be managed will be released in due course.

Good luck doing this. I tried and failed for most of yesterday to get through to the ticket office.

The club have made a very good effort to market season tickets with the price promise and £35 incentive and I don’t see that they could have done much else to encourage renewals. However, my experience of their non internet communication has not been very positive. It took four separate phone calls to renew my two tickets and I’ve still not heard from them in regard to renewal of my car parking space. Why do they make it so difficult to give them money?

I got through first thing when they opened today, so it is possible. The absence of a phone queuing system doesn't help.

Why leave it to the very last minute to renew ? The club has communicated some excellent terms and conditions, paybacks and incentives, so what is the issue ?

Obviously it will be busy as the renewal window closes and let's not forget, they are (like everyone else) probably not yet up to full staff compliments in the ticket office, due to distancing etc

Last week and the week before, you would have all got through no problem.

saintmark1976 - I'm sure they will address your parking issue, once the majority or ST renewals have been processed. It is obviously more important for them to get the renewal money in, especially around the deadline. I'm sure you'll get your parking ticket before we are allowed back in the stadium !!
