Potential Saints Owner Registers UK Company
Thursday, 8th Oct 2020 22:18

A few weeks ago Joseph Dagrosa was names in the media as an American investor who was said to be interested in buying a controlling share in Southampton Football Club, the plot thickens with the registration of KAPITAL FOOTBALL GROUP SMFC U.K. LTD

Yesterday a new company was registered at Companies house, the name KAPITAL FOOTBALL GROUP SMFC U.K. LTD, the sole director a certain Joseph Edward Dagrosa Jr date of birth June 1964 nationality American.

So is there a change of ownership in the offing for a UK football club and is that football club Southampton FC?

It certainly suggests that something is in the offing , as I have said real business is done quietly and this could be the first indication that Dagrosa is going to do some business in the UK.

This sounds promising:

"We're not overly concerned if a club is losing money, particularly in the Covid-19 environment," DaGrosa tells CNN Sport.

"We understand the world has changed but we want to make sure that the club is positioned for on-field success which will ultimately lead to financial success."

St Mirren FC? They always seem to be subject of various takeovers/change of ownership?

..." we are not overly concerned if a club is losing money ..." is a pretty -telling statement suggesting that he wasn't opposed to the idea of putting money into the club and quite different from Mr .Gao ...who declared from Day 1 that he wouldn't be investing big money in the club, but expected it to be self-sustaining.
Obviously Covid 19 has set back the aims of many clubs, but on the face of it - in today's market - Mr. Dagrosa is onto a good thing in buying a Prem, club for ONLY £ 200 million, especially as Mike Ashley (?) is unwilling to sell Newcastle for less than £300 million.

All of the "Big Six" are bleeding money whilst not generating any matchday income .
Man Utd. are " apparantly " losing £5 million on every game they play in an empty Old Trafford. After their last result... they might find it hard to give tickets away for games.

Wikipedia has his DOB as August 1964 whereas the Companies House information states June. Granted, Wikipedia isn't always correct but i'm sure it would be a little more accurate than that so I'll remain a little cynical for now on this one.
However moving forward, If he comes in and invests correctly, with a long term goal for the club and academy then fantastic he'll get my vote. I read he'd like a portfolio of clubs across Europe with one UK based club as the centre of the operation. Not a bad vision in my eyes. It would certainly make us more attractive to players and more competitive on the pitch. Fingers crossed
