Stuart Armstrong Could Feature At Wolves
Wednesday, 10th Feb 2021 15:13

Saints have been bolstered by some returning stars to training over the past week, but it had been reported that Stuart Armstrong was still a little way off, however pictures from today's training may offer Saints fans hope.

Stuart Armstrong looked set to miss out on the FA Cup trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Ralph Hasenhuttl ruled him out of reckoning at his press conference on Tuesday afternoon.

However it could be Ralph playing his cards close to his chest again, as pictures from Staplewood revealed that the Scottish midfielder has returned to full contact training.

It is doubtful if Ralph would risk him in the starting line up, but he may well travel and be on the bench in case Saints need to try and change the game late on.

Either way it does bode well for his chances of a return at the weekend against the same opposition, this time at St Mary's.

FA Cup 5th round. A win and you're in the last 8 ...only 3 games away from Wembley.

We need to play our best /strongest side. Playing in this hard winter, goals will be at a premium and one goal could win the game. Last night MU won 1-0 AET, and (yes) even Bournemouth (!) ..had 1 outfield shot /goal and a penalty.
If we start to get Prem. form back with few wins, it's still now doubtful that we could finish top 5, but an FA Cup win means Euro. football next season (covid permitting) .

We've seen that Ralph can mobilise the team and we had the best start for decades, but few of us can remember when we last had so many mid-season injuries. Few of those out on loan would have been pressing for regular start spot, and all are on a make-or-break situation regarding their futures.
For a number of reasons, we need a win on Thursday. The possibility of coming one step closer to the Final, and a chance to get back of the positive side of a match result which will bring back some confidence.

Only 1 game from Wembley if we win tomorrow underweststand !! (Am assuming SFs are there again - although why a stadium that size is needed to fit an attendance of zero in is an interesting question).

It will be tough - Wolves looked good the other day vs Leicester. If we can defend better then we have a decent chance though...

Sheesh well what a relief hearing this! I mean seeing that Minanino can’t play and that Walcott is still injured (even though in the end he’s not been that great, especially since that Man U home loss) as unless Ralph was going to play a youth, change formation or play the likes of Ward-Prowse at wide midfield (all of which are ridiculously unlikely) it would mean that Djenepo would be playing! And well he just seems to get poorer the more he plays and in my opinion is probably worse than Boufal!

Still I’d 100% rather win tomorrow rather than Sunday (although why not both!?) as this is all we’ve got going for us anymore this season unless we were to turn around the season RIGHT NOW and at a catastrophic rate! I mean it seems like we’ll have our best lineup available so I honestly don’t see why we can’t win this game! One benefit is that other than any injuries during it, extra time won’t be that much of an issue if it comes around seeing that it’s wolves we’re playing on Sunday so it’ll be no different for them, then we get a week of rest! But let’s hope we can finally win something and get back into Europe like we should!

Great news that KWP is back - he has been a huge miss in terms of balance, shape and trust. Also we need proper full backs against Traore !!

Armstrong could make the bench, but there is always a risk of bringing important players back too soon and them getting injured again.

Walcott is out and Minamino is Cup Tied, so I guess that leaves Redmond and Djenepo on the flanks, with perhaps Armstrong and Tella on the bench as cover.

to San marco.. Mmm how are we reckoning?. My calculated 3 games were;
5th round, 6thround and then Semi-final. I was concentrating on the actual Final.
