Ings And Bertrand Missing For Southampton V Leicester City Thursday, 29th Apr 2021 14:30 Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has revealed that Saints injury woes continue with both Danny Ings and Ryan Bertrand ruled out for the visit of Leicester City on Friday evening as Saints seek to gain revenge for defeat in the two previous meetings this season. Danny Ings is set to miss the home game against the Foxes with the muscle injury he picked up in the defeat at Tottenham Hotspur and he will be joined by Ryan Bertrand who himself missed out the trip to North London last week. Ralph Hasenhuttl refused to be drawn during the pre match press conference as to how long either would be out , but he would confirm that neither was missing due to contract issues. "We have Ingsy, Bertrand and Romeu out," Hasenhüttl explained. "Romeu is back on the pitch, but not training with the group. Michael Obafemi has rejoined training and no problems so far but isn't ready." Elaborating on Ings's injury, he added: "It is not worse than it looked; I don't know if he comes back for the last few games . We have Liverpool and then five games in two weeks so we need every player. "It is definitely injury problems, not the contracts. Bertrand has a calf problem and hasn't been able to train. What else can I say. "The target is clear, we want to have a much better way of securing points. We have to find back the quality to win during tight games. To show that we can do things better." Both will be a big miss and it looks likely that Mohamed Salisu will continue to deputise for Bertrand with Hasenhuttl having to consider options to replace Ings.
