Michael Obafemi is reported to be having a medical at Swansea City this evening and looks to be heading to South Wales, but will it be a permanent move or loan deal.

Michael Obafemi almost went to Swansea City in the January transfer window before the deal was scuppered, but now he is said to be on the verge of joining Swansea City with the Swans having sold ex Portsmouth forward Jamal Lowe to AFC Bournemouth for £1.8 million.

If it is a permanent deal then you would expect Saints to demand more than that figure, although it is still uncertain whether it may only be a loan deal.

underweststand added 21:15 - Aug 31 Michael was on the way to Swansea in January before getting a freak injury at the last moment. Looking at our present squad, he may never get regular game time ahead of the other names but he needs first team football, and I expect him to flourish at the lower level I hope he gets the success that has sought and this is the perfect chance for him to show up.

ElijahK added 21:18 - Aug 31 Little unfortunate that’s he’s going permanently, especially seeing that we’ve only got Long and Broja left as backup strikers. As Obafemi may not have been the greatest of youth players and wasn’t our starting 11 PL striker, but he was a decent sub striker who could come on and get a great goal against the likes of Chelsea or Man U to earn us a few more points. But I guess he wants more playing time so it’s understandable of why he wants to leave. Still, wish him all the best.
