Broja Rejoined The Southampton Squad For Training On Wednesday
Thursday, 4th Nov 2021 11:32

Southampton fans will be pleased to see that Armando Broja has rejoined his team mates for the training session at Staplewood on Wednesday afternoon, hopefully signifying that he will be fit for Friday's game against Aston Villa.

Armando Broja has been pictured in action on the training field at Staplewood on Wednesday suggesting that he will feature in the squad to play Aston Villa.

That will be a relief for Saints supporters who have warmed to the big Albanian from Slough in the last few weeks after a couple of good goals and all round strong performances.

However whether he will step straight back into the side is far from certain, Che Adams has scored in both games since his injury and Adam Armstrong although not scoring linked up well with Adams and created many chances for himself and others and came very close to breaking his duck since the opening day of the season.

That may lead Ralph to keep it unchanged up front and try to put Villa to the sword with the work rate of Armstrong and an in form Adams.

Either way hopefully it is another option that Ralph Hasenhuttl will have off the bench on Friday evening.

If Broja is fit to start then I would like to see him play alongside Che. Both are hitting some form so confidence will be high and they could terrorise a Villa defence low on confidence and missing some key players.

How nice that Ralph has this selection dilemma. One could advocate for both Broja-Adams, and A. Armstrong - Adams. As long as Ralph doesn't go back to Redmond - Broja , I'm ok with whatever combination he will choose. Personally I vote for A. Armstrong - Adams.
A. Armstrong did himself no harm vs Watford. He had a good assist and linked up well throughout the match and worked hard. Yes, he should have scored or at least hit the target, but he really tried hard.
He will get a goal very soon, I'm sure. We have a good history with Villa apart from last seasons home game. Villas defense isn't great, so here is a good chance for getting 2 or 3 goals.

I'm still going to stay with my previous choice of Adams and Armstrong up front.
With another blank week coming up, and Liverpool, Leicester, Brighton and Arsenal up coming in December these two fellas have to get themselves on the scoresheet PDQ.

Good news that Broja is fit again, but only starting to train on Wednesday doesn't suggest a fully-fit Armando is ready for a tough 90 minute game, but maybe giving him 15 -20 minutes late on - against a tiring Villa defence - might make the difference.
