The Ugly Inside have been contacted by the promoters of a bar near to Anfield that is usually a home pub for Everton fans, but is being promoted as an away pub for teams visiting Liverpool.

Saints fans have usually used the Arkles when the team travel to Anfield, but with construction work taking place on the new stand in Anfield Road this won't be so convenient to walk to the away turnstiles from, so some away supporters have looked elsewhere for a drink pre match.

The Arkles isn't the greatest pub for away fans in that it is also packed with home supporters and it is hard to get a drink at the best of times in the two hours before kick off.

We have been contacted by a venue near the Goodison side of Stanley Park who have asked us if we can promote their venue for our supporters to use pre match on Saturday at Anfield, we have to stress we have no connection with the venue and other than the fact they have offered to buy us a pint if we pop in, we have nothing to gain, it is just a pure and simple plug for a bar for away supporters at Anfield.

The venue may be familiar to some as it was formerly called the Blue House and it is at the side of Stanley Park near Goodison, when Everton is at home it is packed with home fans, but they are looking for some clientele when the Toffee's are away, when Liverpool are at home it is too close to Goodison Park for the red side of Merseyside to use, so it will be exclusively away supporters.

It is now primarily a Chinese Restaurant called the Hot Wok, but they have a big function room and it is a more pub atmosphere than restaurant, it serves the usual fare of beer etc but with the added advantage is you can get some Chinse food as well if you want.

It is handy for the coach park and if you are driving up you will find it easier to park etc around Goodison , a look on Google maps will show that it is about a 10 minute walk from Anfield and a little shorter if you cut across Stanley Park,

Anyway why not pop in on Saturday if you are in the vicinity, at least you wont be surrounded by non Scousers telling you how great "their" team is and how bad everyone else is compared to them.
