Saints First Pre Season Fixture Announced
Tuesday, 24th May 2022 15:33

Those Saints fans who like to get in a bit of European travel alongside a pre season friendly or two will be pleased to know that for the first time since 2019 they will be able to do just that, read of for the full details.

Saints will be travelling to the land of Ralph Hasenhuttl in July when they take on SK Austria Klagenfurt.

The Austrian Bundesliga side finished sixth this season’s competition and for Saints manager Ralph Hasenhüttl it could be an emotional game , as his son, Patrick, is part of their squad, having joined back in January.

After reporting back to Staplewood in late June, Saints will depart on Wednesday 13th July for the lakeside resort of Velden am Wörthersee, where they will be based until Wednesday 20th July, as they step up preparations for the 2022/23 Premier League campaign.

They then travel the 15 or so miles to take on Klagenfurt, at their 32,000-capacity Wörthersee Stadion, on Monday 18th July, with kick-off at 6pm BST/7pm local time.

They have played at the stadium before back in 2013.

Full ticketing information for fans wishing to attend the game, as well as any broadcast details, will be announced on the club's official website in due course, as will details of additional pre-season fixtures this summer.

Scenery looks very nice , as well as the name. ( "worth at see "). haha
At least Ralph will get a chance to see his homeland and his goalkeeping son..If he's that good maybe a transfer on the books?...would Alex Mc like a season loan there.. maybe not.

Players are used to training everyday so maybe it's a busman's...(sorry footballers) holiday.

With that muppet leading the team I think I'll pass. Its a struggle to go and watch them at St Mary's, or even turn over when they are on live... so the chances of spending money on flights and a hotel, when I could use the money for something like route canal surgery, which is just as painful as watching Ralph TRY and manage a squad... is none.

The club, the board and some supporters should be ashamed of themselves for backing this 3rd rate manager. RELEGATION awaits 2023.
