Leeds United Trying To Get Che Adams On The Cheap !
Sunday, 31st Jul 2022 10:01

According to reports from Yorkshire, Leeds United are said to be interested in taking Che Adams from Saints, but in stereotypical Yorkshire fashion they expect Saints to sell him to them on the cheap.

Che Adams joined Saints from Birmingham City for £15 million in the summer of 2019, his first season was difficult, but he ended it well and since then has had two solid seasons for Saints.

In that time although his value hasn't actually rocketed, it certainly hasn't dropped either, in fact given his success at international level it has risen slightly.

The news that Leeds are looking to sign him is not surprising, but the price they are hoping to get him at is laughable.

They are only willing to pay £10 million and with two years left on Adams contract Saints are in no desperation to sell.

Add to that the issue that aside from Adams Saints only have two other strikers on the books, both as of yet unproven at Premier league level, Adam Armstrong himself has been linked with a move out although it seems that Ralph Hasenhuttl still has faith that he can have a successful second season and score goals.

Sekou Mara has just joined and celebrated his 20th birthday yesterday with his first appearance in a Saints shirt in the friendly with Villarreal, however his 45 minute appearance was not an explosive one and although no one is judging him on this game only days after signing him, Ralph will surely be looking to add to the strikers roster not reduce it.

So I think Leeds United may well be looking to take Che Adams to Elland Road, however they won't be doing it for £10 million unless Ralph Hasenhuttl truly has a couple of attacking surprises up his sleeve in the transfer market.

Indeed with the current situation even a bid of double the current derisory £10 million offering, although more realistic would still be turned down.

Ridiculous. Not a chance . He’s worth 20 million. Why the hell would he want to go there anyway ? They’ve sold many of their stars and are much weaker now. It’s the one position we need to strengthen .

They do rather think a lot of themselves up there don’t they .

If there are offers, we may decide to offload a few unexpected candidates to balance the books and shuffle the pack. However, at £10 million it won't happen.

If it isn't paper talk, it's probably just a toe in the water to see if Che is unsettled.

We should tell them they can have Adam Armstrong instead and that's our final offer.

Or, for that price we could offer them a 2 for 1 special: Walcott and Redmond.

Perhaps throw in Ralph to completer the package?

Ralph obviously doesn't rate Che Adams.
Last season he left him out of the side just when Che was having his best most productive period.
I think it's a case of getting someone out to finance a player coming in, the club has obviously spent its budget.
But ( a big But).
Just how likely are we to get a striker that's any better than Che.
Having said all that I've watched all the pre season friendlies & Che hasn't looked interested, so perhaps it's in the best interests of both parties if he moves on.
Ralph will do as he always does & play a current player out of position & try to convince us all that he's knows what he's doing. He's already said he thinks Stu Armstrong & Joe Aribo are better playing further forward) they might be, but they are not better than having natural quality strikers.
Still, it gives us something to gripe about.

Che Adams has done ok, but I'm not going to lose sleep over it if we sell him. If we can get Adam Armstrong firing, I think he's the better striking option long term.

Not a Premier League goal scorer. Let him go for £12m and use it to add to any other cash waiting to buy a CF and CB

Adams is a good second striker and hold the ball well, if he had another striker to feed off of him we would get goals. What we have to ask is will we get anyone better for the price? I don't think so! Surely there are others we could ship out to recover some funds but would anyone want them?
