Southampton Confirm Two Early Evening Loan Departures
Thursday, 1st Sep 2022 20:24

Saints are getting a lot of business done on deadline day and following the departures of Oriol Romeu on a permanent transfer and Jack Stephens on loan, the club have confirmed two more loan departures.

First of the departing duo is goalkeeper Matteuz Lis who only joined the club in the summer, he was always earmarked for a loan move for the seasons and it has been confirmed he will now join French top flight side ES Troyes AC for the season.

Also going out on loan will be Jake Vokins who will make the short trip up the M3 and will join National League side Woking, I am surprised at this I would have thought that he would have found a league club given that he had spell at Sunderland ended with a heart flicker problem in January 2021 followed by a successful spell at Ross County in the Scottish Premier League last season before that was also sadly ended by injury.

Vokins has been unlucky, lets hope he can complete a full season this time & set himself up somewhere next year.
Lis is somewhat of a surprise package and this will give Saints the chance to see how he performs over a season in the French top flight.
