Another Big Crowd At St Mary's For Leicester Game Tonight
Friday, 15th Sep 2023 08:03

Southampton supporters might have been dismayed by the performance at Sunderland, but they have still bought seats in big numbers for the game against Leicester City this evening and another 30,000 plus crowd is on the cards.

As of Friday morning despite the fact that the game is on a Friday evening and being broadcast on Sky, only around 1,000 tickets are left in the general seating areas for the visit of Leicester City this evening.

That could mean a third successive 30k plus attendance, for the third game in a row this season, although it is unclear how many tickets have been sold by Leicester this evening and that could have an effect on the total attendance as could corporate ticket sales.

Ticket prices for adults start at only £25 with most of the tickets left being in the £25- £35 categories for what is an early clash between two of the favourites for promotion from the Championship.

Tickets can be bought online using the link below or from the ticket office before the game.

Whilst I hope you are correct Nick and a large crowd produces a good atmosphere, I wouldn’t get too excited. My experience of the club’s ticketing website has shown it to be about as reliable as Bazunu’s goalkeeping.

I agree it is a little strange, looking now in block 4 there is a ticket available that was not there when I wrote the story a couple of hours ago, they seem to come and go.

There is also the question of sponsors tickets which are not taken up which is why there is usually a section of 50 or so seats empty in the Itchen/Chapel corner.

Hopefully a performance to match the support will be forthcoming

Don’t think we are among the favourites now Nick. Doubt many will bother for the Ipswich game after that awful performance. What can change in a few days? The Managers high line and playing out the back tactics are destroying results. We are ready for the taking by pretty much every side in this league.
