Burnley Want Che Adams But Is It Out Of The Frying Pan And Into The Fire
Monday, 18th Dec 2023 15:12

The latest from the now whirling rumour mill is that Premier League basement dwellers Burnley want to sign Che Adams, but will that be an attraction to the Saints striker or will he see it just giving him a dozen or so games in the Premier League before back to the Championship.

According to the72.co.uk Burnley are about to launch a bid for Southampton striker Che Adams in the January window.

The striker has had a mixed bag at Saints this season and although he has scored some vital goals, he has been in and out of the side and on Saturday against Blackburn was an unused substitute, Russell Martin preferring to use Sekou Mara.

His failure to get on the pitch on Saturday perhaps suggests that his time is coming to an end at St Mary's, although with doubts about Ross Stewart's fitness it may not quite be there yet, although rumours on Danny Ings becoming the prodigal son suggest he could be the replacement for Adams and not Stewart.

Whether Burnley's interest is via a loan deal, something that would perhaps make sense for both them and for that matter the player, as it would leave Burnley with little outlay and the player free to leave at the end of the season or a permanent deal which could well see Adams only leaving the Championship for a dozen or so games before being back to square one, is yet to be revealed.

Che does need a change and a re-boot.

He was obviously upset when we refused offers for him after relegation and now is free to walk in the summer. What's the discussion.? Make a deal to get the best possible fee and let him go now and bring in A.N.OTHER striker and change the formation.

As a player Ché is brave, battles on in very game and takes knocks, but in our situation has been disappointing as a front line striker, and was never a good replacement for the half-fit Danny Ings he was meant to replace.
A move away now would be a good solution for everyone. Thanks Ché and good luck.
