Southampton Side Announced To Face Stoke City
Saturday, 31st Jan 2026 11:17

Tonda Eckert has named his side that he hopes will get back to winning ways at Stoke City, read on to find out who is in and who is out for a game that could kick start our season again or see it start to peter out.

Saints look to make it 3 games unbeaten in the League when they kick off against Stoke City at 12.30 this afternoon and here is the side that Tonda Eckert has chosen.

Peretz, Bree, Harwood-Bellis, Stephens (c), Welington, Downes, Jander, Fellows, Azaz, Scienza, Stewart.

Subs: McCarthy, Wood, Quarshie, Jelert, Manning, Charles, Matsuki, Robinson, Oyekunle.

So pretty much keeping face with the side that drew at Pompey, but where are Adam Armstrong and Cameron Archer ? No place in the team or on the bench for either.

Armstrong aside the only other change is Matsuki dropping to the bench and Tom Fellows coming in.

If Armstrong is going I fear that is a big mistake as was Edwards leaving. I can only assume he has been agitating for a move..

I like the look of this side.
I normally am Slack Jacks biggest critic but on this occasion I'll lay off him & hope he leads the team to victory.

Tonda is describing Armstrong's absence as a knock in training. In the team yesterday apparently! Must be a bit pissed off if Spors suddenly pulled him because a deal has been agreed. Could be an interesting few days after all.
