Shea Charles Transfer Saga Becomes 3 Way Race
Thursday, 9th Jul 2026 21:04

Southampton will be rubbing their hands as the pursuit to sign midfielder Shea Charles became a little more competitive as two more Premier League clubs joined Leeds United in the race for his signature.

Reports in the media including The Daily Echo are saying that Leeds have been joined by Fulham & Crystal Palace in wanting to sign Shea Charles.

The report says:

"The midfielder is likely to leave St Mary's this summer as Saints look to generate funds following another season in the Championship.

"The Manchester City academy graduate is regarded as one of the club's most saleable players this summer, with interest continuing to grow.

However, Saints are determined not to sell below their asking price, and have already rejected two bids from Leeds as they fell below their valuation."

That valuation is said to start at £25 million and rising to £30 million.

Of course a player is only worth what a club is willing to pay and with two more joining the race, the price will rise.

Leeds are said to have had two bids rejected by Saints as derisory and having tested the water, Leeds may regret not going in high early.
