Southampton Have Werder Bremen Forward In Their Sights Monday, 13th Jul 2026 16:28 The transfer rumours are coming thick and fast this week and the latest transfer news about Saints is that once again they are looking to go shopping in Germany. Last summer saw Leo Scienza and Caspar Jander arrive from Deutschland who were big successes as well as Damion Downs who didn't work out quite so well. The Daily Echo are suggesting that Johannes Sporrs is once again taking the club credit card to Germany with the target Werder Bremen forward Justin Njinmah. They say that "They add that Njinmah is likely to leave Werder Bremen this summer, and that England is a likely destination for the six-foot-tall versatile ace." The Hamburg-born attacker has scored 14 goals as well as 6 assists in 84 Bundesliga appearances, playing as a winger and a centre-forward. Hull City newly promoted to the Premier League are also said to be looking at Njinmah, who would probably go for around £8 million. However given that Saints are said to be about to sign Lewis Dobbin for a similar figure from Aston Villa who is also described as a winger who can also play as a centre forward, it does sound a little strange. If we were to sign both Dobbin and Njinmah, would that spell the end for Leo Scienza at the club, we would be top heavy with wingers. As I said in an earlier article today, I would not be surprised to see two new arrivals at St Mary's this week.
