Leo Scienza In High Demand as Tottenham Hotspur Linked
Thursday, 16th Jul 2026 15:40

Bad news for Southampton supporters but it seems that someone is trying to stir up interest in the transfer window for Leo Scienza. Whether it is his agent, someone else's agent or just the media looking for page hits, there is some dirty work afoot.

Tottenham Hotspur website tothelaneandback.com are suggesting that Spurs are interested in Southampton's Leo Scienza,

They claim that According to Spanish outlet AS.com, Tottenham are among a host of clubs across Europe to have scouted Southampton playmaker Leo Scienza. The interest in the player is now growing, as more clubs from England, Spain and Italy are joining the race to sign him. Crystal Palace, Real Betis, Real Sociedad, Como and Atalanta are all keen.

Certainly if he does go Scienza will not come cheap, with 3 years still left on his contract, Owner Dragan Solak has already stated that it will take a truly out of this world offer to prise Scienza from St Mary's and it seems that the rumour mongering is already starting.

Sell him to the highest bidder. £20-25m should do it. Spurs, Betis, Al-Nassr, Fenerbahce, Botafogo, Como, whoever can stump up the readies. We sell Charles as well for a similar fee, then buy a CDM and CF.

If the rumours are true then potentially we could get up to £35m for Scienza, although there is also talk he has a £25m release clause. If we could convince Spurs to part with £25m plus Lankshear then that would be great business for us and complete our front line rebuild. We could then concentrate on other areas of the team and clearing the dead wood.

As long as Solak sticks to his vowed intent to get £35m O wouldn't be unhappy He's an exciting player but IMO not a top hal EPL player
We could use that income to buy another holding player and a real number 9

I'd hate to see him go. But given his career trajectory through the ranks at some fairly obscure sides, and given how much he's given to us, i can't see denying him his dream—especially if it nets us a handsome payout.

Also think we should use Charles to try and get cash and player/s. Originally thought £15m plus Gelhardt and Piroe from Leeds although I think if we could get Lankshear we wouldn’t need anymore forwards so maybe try and tempt Palace with £25m and Devenny coming back to plug the centre midfield. Plenty of PL experience there if he would be willing to drop into the Championship. Just and Hjertø-Dahl would also be amazing signings if we were to loose or unload other players.

£25m is taking the pee. £30 is the benchmark for a bread & butter PL player these days. £35 would be a bargain. I'd be looking at c. £50m, especially for a player with 3 years left on his contract. Unless ofc he has a release clause...
