Scottish striker does a Leeds U Turn!

Yesterday he was citing a lovely wife, four young kids and being "too-old" to jump in a car as reasons why he didn't fancy moving to Leeds.

But today Dougie Freedman had an amazing change of heart and will be joining Leeds on-loan from Crystal Palace until the end of the season.

Freedman appeared to be in no-hurry to move to Leeds, after all he is part of the Crystal Palace coaching-staff under Neil Warnock and is well-settled in London having spent most of his playing days down there.

But tonight, the offical Leeds United website confirm that Freedman is set to arrive at Elland Road and Macca says there are just a few "finer" points to iron out.

Born in Glasgow in January 1974, Freedman began with QPR but moved on a free to Barnet without making an appearance at Loftus Road in 1994. His Barnet record was 27 goals in 47 games, so Crystal Palace splashed out £800,000 on him in 1995.

He made 90 appearances, scoring 31 times in his first-spell at Palace before going to Wolves in 1997 - initially on-loan before signing on permanently.

He then moved to Nottingham Forest in 1998, scoring 18 times in 70 appearances before returning to Palace, where he has managed 64 goals in 237 appearances - as well as earning 2 Scottish caps.

It appears to be a case of third-time lucky for Leeds landing Freedman. He snubbed a move to ER during the 04/05 season and again only yesterday Leeds looked like they had missed out again.

Macca obviously rates him, even though he hardly has the most prolific goalscoring record - lets hope the long-chance will be worth it!

Meanwhile, Orient have told The Daily Mail that they will challenge any decision to restore Leeds 15 points in court. The hearing will take place on April 14th.
