Eduardo Signs Long Term Deal
Eduardo Signs Long Term Deal

Croatian striker’s contract announcement timed to coincide with his return to prominence in the first team.

Robin van Persie’s injury is in danger of being built into the story that defines our season, you can already predict the headlines and excuses should we falter in the coming weeks, but Eduardo has the talent to fill the considerable void left by the Dutchman. His fitness has been unreliable since his injury but he came through an international with Croatia at the weekend, scoring two goals, and is feeling more confident, he said:

“This period is good for me now. I feel strong in my body and I feel ready to play 90 minutes every three days if it's needed.â€?

A front line of Arshavin, Eduardo and Rosicky is not something to be concerned about but van Persie’s injury has come as a shock because of the revelation he has proved to be in the central striker role. If anything, Eduardo is more naturally suited to the position. He is not as explosive as van Persie but his movement is more intelligent and he should still provide a productive spearhead.
