Usually try to avoid anything that I’ve watched made in the 60’s/70’s or 80s as they’re usually shite, but watched Carrie last night and thought it was very well made and kept to the original perfectly. What remakes do you all like?

favourite cheese mature Cheddar. FFS there is no such thing as the EPL
James Cameron's stock was super high after the success of The Terminator. He had a meeting to pitch a new film to some studio execs, who were very confused that they'd heard he wanted to make a sequel to Alien - a fairly successful film, but one which had been enveloped in legal battles since its release.
Cameron comes into the room with no paper or anything and writes ALIEN on a chalkboard. He then writes an S at the end. He then dramatically put two lines through the S to make ALIEN$. He then grins.
They gave him $18m on the spot.
Everything after Aliens is dreadful, but have always rooted for David Fincher cos of how badly the studio treated him on Alien 3

Another fact - a lot of ALIENS was shot in Acton!
Dumbest remake I can think of is the reshooting of Psycho by Gus Van Sant. Awful idea, awful leads..
THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN is a remake of Kurosawa's The Seven Samurai, and that's pretty bloody fantastic
