January 2026 Transfer Window 09:03 - Dec 16 with 2364 viewsDaniel

As per the previous two windows, Danny has said players will have to leave before players come in.

https://www.gazette-news.co.uk

So who would we like to see leave?

According to Coludata, all but six players are out of contract next summer - Akande, Lisbie, Perry, Terry, Tucker, Williams.

I really hope we have options on the likes of Macey, Bishop and Payne - we need them and I don't want us to cash in now.

Right now I'd offload JK Gordon and take any money for Edwards and Tovide.

I thought Perry was on a three year deal?

He is. He's one of the six contracted beyond next summer.

I'd be pretty happy to stick with what we've got providing no one leaves.

JK is a bit of an enigma. I want him to do well but it hasn't really happened for him, not consistently anyway. For me Williams has struggled a bit and I'm not sure about Gape. I think Edwards has shown flashes of last season's form recently and could be a real asset the second half of the season.

Powell returns to Forest. No real surprise there. No point him being here as he's not even getting on the bench now. Did well enough early on in his spell but maybe not quite ready for this level.

Brighton are attempting to buy Mbick. Two bids rejected, the second thought to be £3.5million.

Hopefully Charlton decide to keep rejecting bids until the summer!

Crikey - £3.5m!

Let's hope if they buy him they loan him straight back to us for the rest of the season.

If Brighton do buy Mbick he can't play for them until next season, as he has already played for two teams this season.

It's pretty much their only choice, other than Charlton I guess, if they want him to carry on playing games of course. They might be able to loan him outside of England though.

Evidently Mbick didn't train today.

'Premier League watching Colchester players' - Cowley
https://www.bbc.com/sport/foot

Colchester United boss Danny Cowley says the "pace and athleticism" of the club's exciting young players is attracting a lot of interest from clubs at higher levels.

Forward Kyreece Lisbie, who has nine goals from 30 games this season, is one who has attracted "multiple offers" but is not the only one, according to the U's head coach.

Meanwhile, Nathan Jones insists Mbick is not for sale. Unfortunately, money talks, and anyone is determined enough they’ll buy him.

FFS, from his Wiki page it looks like he was at our Academy before the Binners snapped him up?

He's from Southwold, good things come from Southwold, as my waistline will confirm.

Fin Back on loan from Wycombe is a rumour I've seen mentioned. Was at Forest for 14 years until he left last season. Has had two loan spells at Carlisle previously.

The son of world cup winner Neil Back MBE, I believe?

That's the 2003 Rugby Union world cup! I remember that day, watched it on the box and then drove off all pumped up, to see the U's away to Rushden and Diamonds.

Craig Fagan got sent off for kicking out at someone when he was on the deck and we got spannered 4-0.

It was a nice new ground, but I believe it's been demolished now?

The name Fin Back seems very similar to Fin Barbrook

That is a very good point. Maybe someone has got their wires crossed.

Two Fins are not uncommon.

I give you the perch, Zander and Sea Bass for example.

It is true. Wycombe defender Fin Back has agreed a loan move to Colchester. A right-back or defensive midfielder.
