When he arrived, Bennie was billed as a winger. We saw him a few times in that role and others in the years we were threadbare.
He did not excel, but when we played him up front, he was a clinical striker, especially on breakaways. Initially, I had written him off, but I can now see how he could play up front as a striker, as he can also run the channels, and his finishing is really very good.
It says in contention for the first team. I would say that means he's on the bench as a sub for Kolli. Fair enough, I would like to see more of him up front from the bench (Kolli had to wait) and some of that Akindileni boy from the bench too.
