On This Day In History 24th April - A Tale Of Two Liverpool Games on 13:38 - Apr 24 with 391 views130yrs_and_one_Cup

On this day in history in 2005 was the first of the demolition derby’s, it was the last time the teams met in the Premier league, and it was some atmosphere.

The atmosphere was aided by the song of the day “the scummers are going down” a rendition of Peter kays’ chart topping hit with Tony which still resonates today.

Unfortunately, Anti Niemi froze, as did a few of the Soton players meaning that it was always going to be an uphill struggle. Even Redknapp admitted that too many of his players froze that day.

It could have been 19 or 20-1 to be honest, but we settled for 4 and one the best ever goal celebrations in the history of the Premier League ie Lomano Lua Lua

The short video on youtube is superb which includes O Fortuna, from Carl Orff's Carmina Burana

Alternatively, they are showing the full game on Sky Sports today. Enjoy.
