Rangers Beat Celtic Away 14:36 - Jan 3 with 831 viewsSouthamptonfan

Danny Rohl doing a fantastic job at Rangers I see. If only we had paid the money to get him here in the summer.

SR are far too fu cking stupid to come up with a logical move like that, especially when everyone else seemed to think it was a good idea

Nail on head again Southamptonfan.

My Opinion :-

Sports Republic didn’t want to pay the money.

Then again why would they, having previously told us that they can’t compete in The Premiership

Football success is not on their agenda, only an ability to be able to run a successful Player Trading Business with additional revenue from satellite Hospitality venues at St Mary’s.

The days of our owners and us supporters singing from the same hymn sheet are over, simply because their’s and our’s objectives are currently incompatible.

Will it change any time soon? Don’t hold your breath I’m afraid.

Poll: Luton 49pts relegated last time. Will we get another 17pts from 20 games?

I wonder if the reality was Rohl took one look at our club and the owners and thought " no thanks"

The point being Danny Rohl completely changed the team when they were a goal down against Celtic at half time, and went on to win it 3-1. That is a manager with experience who is tactically astute.

Very depressing, but I'm afraid I think you've also hit the nail on the head Saintmark

I've been asking for a while that while we have been looking at a manager change, who on earth would want to come here.
Certainly not one with any ambition other than maybe a nice pay off following a sacking as he'd probably realise he's not up to the job, will probably get the sack anyway so Kerching!

He did wonders at Sheffield Wednesday and he would have been better than we had or have. I’d go as far as saying we would have been in the play offs if he was in charge.

Yep he did well at Sheffield Wednesday despite the players not being paid. I remember sticking up for him, he was my preferred choice. Good manager .

He is an excellent manager, who had proved himself in the championship, who had links to Saints and who is a character full of energy and enthusiasm. But no, not for Sports Republic. An experienced championship manager who we all liked, and would have got fully behind him - Oh no SR had other ideas, probably because Rohl cost a few million more, and probably because Rohl is a confident, strong manager who would have told Sport Republic where to shove their pathetic ideas.

So Sport Republic and Spors thought I know let's do an experiment and appoint someone who has never managed in England before and someone who is as dull as dishwater. And then again, when that didn't work (because yes men with no experience doesn't work), we appoint another inexperienced, unknown manager (or head coach as they say, whomis also as dull as dishwater) so that they can rule him around as their next yes man.

Hadn’t Spors and Rohl worked together previously?

Yes they did, which made it all the more likely that he would come here. But then they probably heard that Sheff Wed wanted compensation and Rohl wanted more etc, so they went for the cheaper option.

I thought Rohl had left Sheff Wed before the end of last season, so we could easily have got him instead of Still.

I think if I remember rightly, because Rohl was at Sheffield Wednesday and was still under contract, Chansiri was demanding a high compensation. Rohl resigned, but he couldn't then just take another job without the compensation still being paid, otherwise that's what every manager would do, just resign then take another job. Still was here at the final game of the season, against Arsenal, so I assume we couldn't have got Rohl until later, as he was at Sheff Wed for their final game. Then you.pay more if we are PL.club so then have to wait until later until we were officially a Championship club.

All of that was going on in their thoughts and probably Rohl wanted more say as well than SR would ever allow so.they went for the cheap yes man again.

That's probably why Danny Rohl didn't want to come back !.
