Whilst I wasn’t happy with Bazunu, there is no way he is the worst keeper to play for the club. Alan Blayney, Paul Smith, Ian Andrews and I’m sure some before my time were worse. I don’t think Gunn was any better. He isn't worth £8 million.
Not a chance in hell Stoke will pay that for him in the summer.
He will return to us, probably be loaned out again next season, and he will end up leaving on a free transfer in June 2027. | |

Like most others I’ve never thought Bazunu was an average keeper let alone a good one.
It wasn’t his fault that Dragan and the loons thought paying £10 million for him and putting him in straight into a premier league team was a good thing.
He was still poor in our promotion winning team in my opinion, and didn’t seem to save many in a team that finished 4th and a much better squad than we have this season.
This season however, although still not great he has finally started to make saves you’d expect an average keeper would make in a mid table side.
As for his replacement, if Bazunu was in goal at Doncaster at let those 2 goals in he would have been slaughtered.
Like you Nick I’m not sure we have someone on par let alone better.

A bit harsh on Kelvin Pat,given he was part of two successive promotions and had a player of the season award too. I know he had his faults and was poor in his first 2 seasons, but he was capable of match winning performances and that evening at Leeds in the championship promotion season was one of the best goalkeeping displays to win a match for Saints.
