| On this day 7 years ago on 11:23 - Jan 29 by green | Giroud with his customary goal against us. I remember getting absolutely soaked on the way to that game. |
Yes, Saints seemed to cope better with the wind and the rain early in the game but when the rain stopped and the wind died down, conditions were perfect in the second half and Arsenal came right back into the game and looked like they were going on to win it, which made it all the more pleasing when we equalized. Arsenal were 2 points clear at the top of the league at the time. I still remember it as one of the great night games at St Mary's. Pochettino was buzzing after the game: "I thought the team was outstanding. We were sensational in the first half and did really well. It was total football." [Post edited 29 Jan 2021 11:53]
