I totally agree. I've also been critical of Vestergaard in the past but he played very well today. You're also right about Walker-Peter who had an excellent game. |

A fantastic and thoroughly deserved away win for us to get three massive points. The goals were all superb and, vitally, we kept a clean sheet. We were so much better in the second half after a rather poor first half performance.
I can't see Norwich surviving now and we are nearly mathematically safe - just one more win needed.
Mark Lawrenson predicted a 2-1 win to Norwich, so it was just brilliant to prove him wrong! |

Me too. I NEVER watch after we've lost but and only do so after we've won!
It was so good to finally see us play well at home. It was a little nervy for us at the end and we had to weather a bit of pressure from Villa. But, to be honest, they never particularly threatened and that second goal, after Reina had left an empty net, was exactly what we needed to settle the nerves and seal the win.
West Ham up next and given the run they're on and our excellent away form, I fancy our chances there. A win would take us just one win away from safety! |

You see the scouse idiots in the away end at every ground in the country. Yet another reason, if we needed one, to hate that club even more. My loathing for LiVARpool exceeds even the dislike I have for the skates.
I have to say, though, after Wednesday night, Spurs come a close second. That is one despicable club with dirty, cheating players like the diving Son. And, for all the plaudits it's received, I wasn't impressed with their new stadium. It was devoid of atmosphere and the only ones singing were the Saints fans. I just hope Norwich beat then in the next round as they dont deserve to still be in the competition. |

VAR did review but, inexplicably, upheld the ref's decision to award a penalty.
But, as we all know, and even some Spurs fans have admitted, it was a blatant dive, there was no or minimal contact and it was never a penalty. Son is a dirty cheat and that silly childlike smile (which actually makes me puke) conceals a nasty person. Let's hope he gets the coronavirus, eh! |

I agree too. There is no way on earth that was a penalty.
Son is a cheating cvnt and blatantly dived. Gunn barely touched him and was justified in protesting to the referee after the penalty was awarded. What is the point of VAR if it's not going to overturn ridiculous decisions like that? We were the better team by far last night and should now be in the fifth round instead of Spurs. They are a revolting team and cheated their way to an undeserved victory. |

I know it's highly unlikely but how good would it be to see Norwich beat Spurs in the next round! There is nothing whatsoever to admire about Spurs. They are a desipicable club who don't deserve to be in the fifth round after we outplayed them last night and they cheated their way into a penalty. |

I agree. The stadium is in a wretched part of London, there is no atmosphere there because of their ghastly plastic/tourist fans and it's a massive walk from Seven Sisters. And they have that stupid chicken on a football club sign everywhere in a massive size. It must be the worst club symbol in the league. To top off my feelings about Spurs, their manager is a graceless, sour-faced idiot, their players are vastly overrated and, in Son, they have a dirty cheat who clearly dived to con the referee for their third goal - no way was that a penalty and it's a disgrace that that prick Kevin Friend on VAR didn't overturn the decision. But that's big club home bias for you. VAR - or rather the way it is implemented - is ruining football, as we found out at Anfield last Saturday.
Spurs did not deserve to win that game. We did. We played the better football throughout but, as so often happens, didn't take our chances. Had we got a third goal I think we'd have won but we ended up paying the price for some poor finishing and now, sadly, we're out of the cup.
I'm certainly in no hurry to go back to that ground as I loathe everything about Spurs. |

I didn't get to the game in '94 but was at Filbert Street for our 2-3 win in October 1986. It was a cracking game. If memory serves me correctly, we were 2-1 down and came back to win the match. The goals were scored by Colin Clarke, Danny Wallace and George Lawrence.
I remember playing pool in a Leicester pub with some of the home fans and, as others have said, they were not the most friendly types. Despite that, though, great memories of a tremendous away win! |

Yes, a truly massive win. I was also very nervous during the second half. Given our record of throwing away the lead, I feared the worst. But, for once, we held firm, defended really well and have now beaten another so-called top-six side. |

I agree. I'd just love it (as Keegan would say) to see cocky Bournemouth get relegated.
As for the other places, it looks like Watford might turn things around but Norwich are likely to go down. Villa may well join them as they're having a Fulham kind of season.
I'm not counting any chickens just yet as far as Saints go. But, given the upturn in our performances (particularly away from home), we don't look like a relegated team. |

Yes, it was a great performance from Saints. It was slightly nervy after they pulled one back but they didn't seriously threaten after that and, for once, we didn't throw away a lead! We actually should have scored more goals and made it a lot more comfortable.
However, the key thing is three hugely precious points and we're out of the dreaded relegation zone for Christmas. A long way to go, of course, but we now have some hope of avoiding the drop. I'll be at the Chelsea game and, given the way we play better away from home and the fact that Chelsea have lost a couple of recent home games, you never know what we might pick up there. COYS!! |

Yes, we have to keep hoping.
It's not as if we are cast adrift by 7 or 8 points at the bottom of the table. A few wins would turn things around. We are unlikely to get them against Man City but we do have some easier fixtures coming up after those games.
It was good that Watford and Neecastle failed to win over the weekend and that Norwich lost. These results keep us in the mix and it is still possible we could escape the trauma of relegation. |
