| News Comment | Southampton At Portsmouth The Women's Game Verdict at 04:51:49
I agree with your point about playing in 90% empty stadium. I took my daughter last season and it was her first experience of SMS. crowd was around 3.5k but I felt bad that she was surrounded by empty stands. Would have been so much better at Eastleigh it Totton. By all means use SMS but only when the crowds merit it. |

Agree SM'76. A Leicester win would be fatal just guaranteeing increasing the gap to safety. Draw , point each is the best for sure. |

| News Comment | Turkish Club Interested In Saints Out Of Contract Midfielder at 12:31:53
I was wondering if he could dajfu in the championship at least. Similar question around Walcott. But probably better to get the high earners off the books if they haven't delivered their value to date. If they both took pay cuts if nobody wanted them..... |
| News Comment | Saints At Manchester City The Verdict at 10:05:50
Many of us have rightfully slagged off SFC recently but this was a performance that deserved a lot of credit. Even the commentators were purring at saints defence at times! I agree Nick JWP and PEH did well particularly the latter at left back who hasn't had a good season imo. I expected and hoped this sort of performance for the cup though but guess in Ralph we must trust and he went for caution on Tuesday. Still, this result improved and impressed and I can't wait for a fit djenepo to start for saints. |
| News Comment | Saints At Manchester City The Verdict at 03:44:44
I agree in the main. Heart says we should have gone for it but a slaughtering would have put us back even further. RH had a game plan and it was not a disaster. If we improve on a 1-3 loss on Saturday then we can go into the next home game with a lot more attacking intent. No point having long. Start with Redmond and Adams for sure. 2nd half was at least watchable |
| News Comment | A Rough Guide To Brighton at 12:13:33
Lived in Brighton a couple of years been to the Amex many times especially when they were in Championship. Recommend getting the local pies in the ground , you'll be hard pushed to find better at any ground. Also, (pedant alert) Ames is next to Brighton University ( not uni of Sussex ) though still fairly close the uni of Sussex main campus is on other side of A27. Don't even think of parking at either uni car parks number plate recognition systems everywhere.... |
| News Comment | Saints V Liverpool The Verdict at 15:01:52
Agree with the report; a lot of positives overall. Thought Valery had a shocker despite that late cross for ings. But I like him so hope it's a one off. |
| News Comment | Saints At Huddersfield The Verdict at 12:22:28
Fully agree with saintmark. Huddersfield were really awful and just Christmas gifted saints the 3 goals. There were times of pressure, and nervy defence particularly at 2-1 but we'll done the boys in red and white for seeing it through comfortably in the end. Onwards and upwards!!! |
| News Comment | Saints At Everton The Verdict at 08:23:37
Simmo, erm, 2 draws in next 2 games we will mean less than 1pt per game average and i for one will certainly be panicking if that's the case...... |
| News Comment | Is Mario Lemina About To Leave ? at 12:32:30
Everyone is remembering Lemina's "good times" and yes he can be a great and influencial player. But when he was absent, it truly cost us and it was way too many times . That sort of inconsistency is not worth it at this level. I don't have too much of an issue with him leaving. I liked him, yes but not when he did not turn up. |
| News Comment | Hughes On £2 Million Bonus To Keep Saints Up at 08:38:49
The £2 mil bonus would not surprise me at all. The Premier league money is absolutely crazy. A few years ago, I knew a first team physio who was the brother of a v.good mate and colleague of mine - he got 250K bonus when the team was promoted to the PL from the championship. Yes Physio. and 100% true. |
| News Comment | Mauricio Pellegrino Is Gone ! at 10:51:34
one other thing - I agree with A1079. Like Puel last year i am again disappointed. I still wanted MP to succeed. i.e keep us up and maybe a wembley appearance. If we limp out of FA cup and are crap in the last 8 games resulting in relegation then sacking him will be classed as a mistake. |
| News Comment | Mauricio Pellegrino Is Gone ! at 03:24:47
The board also knew that the fans were increasingly turning on them (as W. Ham) and to save their own butts hung MP out to deflect the attention. I think LeGod is right; once MP blamed players then it meant the dressing room was clearly lost beyond recovery. and we would have subsequently crawled all the way to relegation from here on in. |
| News Comment | Saints Said To Be Sacking Pellegrino ! But Not Now ! at 10:49:21
What a load of BS. IF saints stay up and win the FA cup yet MP is sacked in the summer then I'm afraid it will be another proverbial nail in the coffin for me a supporter. What the hell do we expect as we are developing as a club?? CP sacking was bad enough. 8th and cup final FFS. Dorset Ian put the case very well above. I have nothing more to add. |
| News Comment | Only One Course Of Action Left ! at 13:10:57
"I think that Pellegrino can keep us up, he may even win the FA Cup, but the fact is we will do it the hard way and nothing will change next season." You cannot know and say that with 100% surety Nick. Come on. It would be worse than the Puel Sacking if he wins the FA cup and keeps us up. Many managers have had a crap first season and gone on to be legends. Ferguson and MCmenemy immediately spring to mind. Who can definitively say MP won't. Key Issue though could be season ticket renwals ala puel.... |

| News Comment | Silva Rumours Mount at 14:34:51
No. Please no. Lord Lucan and others are right. SFC needs managerial stability. It'll be a short term fix and major grief in 1-2 seasons. I am really hoping and praying MP turns it around and brings success to SFC in the long run. He seems like a decent sort too (as was Puel) . Silva does not (if alleged rumours are true.) COYMP.... | News Comment | Virgil Van Dijk ! Good Riddance To A Disgrace at 10:21:02
The Le Tissiers of this world are so so rare as we all know. Do footballers put fan adoration and loyalty first or money and personal glory first? These days it is undoubtably the latter. All ego driven with greed for VVD. How much money can someone really have and need? How can he be the 9th highest paid footballer in the UK and at £180k a week to boot?. no doubt with personal endorsements and bonuses on top. I know we all smile when lovren screws up regularly and i dislike myself for wanting the same to happen to VVD but when footballers do this it is v.v.hard not to wish him well. Anyway time to draw a line under this sorry saga and strengthen the squad with the spoils. |
