Would anyone else start Lumley? I personally think long-term he has all the attributes to be the better keeper of the two, but his confidence was shot to bits in the middle part of the season. Playing in front of no crowd for the remaining games could allow him to ease back into some form and get back to his best. |

Last night really was great viewing!! I came away from the ground with a positive feeling that I haven't felt in a while, but particularly regarding Warburton's management. I think he really nailed three things last night: 1. Keeping Scowen in the side - the player openly admitted he had a bad game on Saturday and it would of been easy to drop/rest him, but with players like Chair impressing last night that could of been Scowen out of the team. Instead Warburton allowed him to correct a poor performance at the first opportunity and whilst he may not be in the first 11 this coming Saturday the player hopefully won't be dwelling on a previous performance while sitting on the bench. 2. Playing Leistner - he's still our player and arguably best 'defender' and if he's still here after the European transfer window closes he 100% has a role to play. Correct decision to keep him involved. 3. Substitutions - I've been impressed by this in general since the new manager came in. against Huddersfield he introduced Chair and Kane down the right and it changed the game. Last night I think Bristol's best player was the 18 year old Massengo (Number 42 with the hair, who on last nights viewing I think could really be a top player in a few years time). Whilst slight in frame he seemed to be everywhere and winning his fair share of the ball against Smith and Scowen (not a criticism of either I thought both played well), however Warburton introduced the much bulkier Amos into the middle of the park and it really allowed us to further control the game from that point onwards in the second half. Really promising signs and so far some great management from the Gaffer' |

How did that come about? I've always wondered how people get picked for the half time shows as I don't ever remember seeing it advertised. |
