That 5-1 loss to Spurs I remember well. Watched it from the North Stand at White Heart Lane with a Spurs supporting mate. Had to endure those 5 goals but remember jumping out of my seat on our goal and having a bit of ‘banter’ thrown my way by all the locals. Thanks for bring back all these memories Nick. |

Japan were at home, not away in Thailand. Yoshida captained the team tonight and lead them to a 4-0 win and nodded in the fourth himself for good measure. Though to be honest, apart from the goal he didn't have that great a game. They played their other World Cup qualifier away last week in UAE, so he's packed in a load of air miles over fortnight! |

Can't blame Yoshida for their goal, was basically the last man standing. Does he tackle or hold off? Either way he'll get damed if they score, took an unlucky deflection and he gets damed. Only two goals let in in four games, not too bad for our central defence. |

Don't know too much about Stephen's, although I hear great things bout him. Only minus is that if they drop Yoshida then I really think he will leave as he needs game time to keep his place in the Japanese side. Then there won't be many live Saints games on Sky TV here!! |

Having seen Yoshida over a few years in internationals for Japan, I'd say that Fonte has more to be worried about. He is a strong guy but he also likes to play the ball out of defence and make passes up to midfield or out to the wings.
Really interested to see how he fits in with us and praying he does quickly and is the key to save our defence! |

Both Fonte and Hooiveld are having way too many dodgy moments. Hooiveld has given away two penalties through sloppy tackling in three games. Only for crap penalties and Davies saves the scores would have been much worse. Hope Yoshida can help sort the central defence out, if he can't we're in deep S**t. |
