A friendly reminder that we are currently 15th, but 24th in the form table, and every team below us to 24th has won at least once in their last five whilst we have one point last 5 games
Hamburg (57,000) and Koln (50,000) or Kaiserslautern (49,780) may replace Holstein Kiel (15,000), Bochum (26,000) or Heidenheim (15,000) - taking current league standing
How about a 16500 stadium (15,000 + 1,500 away fans), more corporate facilities, no restricted views, better toilets, no digging down - by refurbishing Loftus Road within current footprint?
Granted the Celtic-Rangers hegemony in Scottish football, but Queen’s Park is decent in the second tier, it’s not like they are non-league, or for the matter-of-fact, a la Vauxhall Motors giant killing spree of another rangers team
Queen's Park's victory over Rangers is likened to, I quote : "Queen's Park provided one of the biggest shocks in Scottish Cup history by defeating Rangers one nil at Ibrox to advance to the quarter finals" on their own website queensparkfc.co.uk
Not quite?
- They play in the Championship - second tier of Scottish football - They are currently 5th, just a place outside the Premiership play-off qualification slots - They turned professional in 2019
Certainly a shock win. But definitely not "one of the biggest shocks in Scottish Cup history"!
The alleged handball by Lloyd just before Yang’s penalty claim leading to Colback’s winner demonstrated enough we did got something (the winner! 3 points) from the ref(‘s decisions). No?
If he goes, he gets big money move, plays in the PL next season, we get a nice compensation and before the window shuts use the fund to get a decent right back
If he stays, he continues his great form and no hard feelings for the club and may our form pick up again to push for playoffs
Not if we sneak into the playoffs this May and Dunne would probably be massive part of this, if he stayed, not impossible if we go on another spectacular run
But the likelihood of him getting at least a PL game, I have to admit, is with Sheffield blades
Let just say Korean fans support their own as it very rare for Korean footballers to play in England. Naturally, even an uncapped player plying his trade in Europe will be followed closely by his countrymen as it is a big deal for Korean football.
Kane plays for Bayern Munich, are there many English tourists at the Allianz Arena?
IIRC, when Dunne was shifted to the right, he was at a crossroad - if he failed to impress, that would be his end of it at that stage. But he did spectacularly after an initial bump and never looked back, made right back his position even ahead of players naturally playing in that position. And he was an outlet for goal kicks (Begovic was ropey) and also Dunne became an attacking aerial threat as well in free kicks and corners into the box and scored a few goals including that worldie versus Brum
Now that was partly down to the player but a major part was Marti’s willingness to experiment and gave Dunne a new lease of life at QPR. Would anyone have given him a contract extension before this miraculous change not to mention an improved terms at that. I think that answer is a resounding no.
Is he a loss, I bet you he will be, but in the short term at least for now in a few games where we as a team needs to recalibrate and give ourselves a new focus and confidence. If Dunne goes, he will be missed, but I am sure Marti will find a way to play without him and perhaps he could make another Dunne with one of squad player hitting a crossroad at this point in his career. EDB? Madsen? Not necessarily at right back though
Playing Edwards at right back tells me that position is a weak link and Dunne is 90% going, it could be Ashby starting if Dunne is not feeling 100%. They are trying out if Edwards could be playing Marti’s “Dunne” strategy.
Perhaps we might find another way rather that relying on Dunne as an attacking focus. I am sure Marti can conjure up something special. I credit Marti in transforming Dunne.
