We’ve moved on from cartoons and puppets now. AI will see the next level of cutting satire. Saw a great one of the US army abseiling their way into Downing Street to take Starmer away Maduro style, only to find him in bed with the three Ukrainian lads who firebombed his house. Again they want to ban it because they can’t control it and don’t like being ridiculed. |

I’m not one to defend this degenerate but can he be held to blame for this one? He had a house and sold it. Has anybody on here done a full check on the buyer of their house to make sure that the buyer isn’t involved in criminal practices? He was probably not involved in the sale in any way. |

In an early episode of the office, an email is going around with David Brent’s face superimposed onto a woman’s naked body with two men performing an act on him. That show released 25 years ago this year, they were probably using a dial up connection and had computers the size of houses that could barely run Minesweeper. The use of technology to undress people not a new problem created explicitly by AI. Perverts are always gonna pervert. The creation of these images to deliberately humiliate or degrade people should have always been illegal, to my knowledge it is. To ban an entire platform because a few sick individuals use it for nefarious reasons is not addressing the root cause. They’ll move onto other platforms. As the OP says this is all about censorship because people online are not particularly complimentary about the government in recent times and they don’t have any control over it. |

Putin is as Soviet as you and I are. His hero is Peter the Great and he envisions himself as a Tsar of old rather than a general secretary or a chairman. The way he positions himself in his grand palace at the end of a long table or with his “advisers” all at a distance in a semi circle facing towards him, or the way he poses on a horse or out swimming and hunting. He wants to be seen almost as royalty, he projects the image that he and he alone is in charge. Ukraine is his Great North War and he wants to claim the land east of the river in the country that is now Ukraine just like Peter did. That war signified the first real steps towards a Russian empire with the defeat of the swedes. It is deeply personal for him. To suggest this war is about NATO expansionism or Nazis or any other bollocks that CJ comes up with is risible. |

It was never about football hooliganism. We knew it, they knew it, everybody knew it. Clubs with an awfully worse record of hooliganism are allowed to come to or play in Britain every week and the police generally do a good job to ensure the games go ahead without incident. 100,000 Rangers fans smashed up Manchester a few years ago but their fans are still allowed to travel every week by British police. It stinks. |

You’re talking about “the expansion of NATO” as if countries want to have to commit a serious chunk of their GDP towards military spending. They don’t. Being a member of NATO is expensive. The single most fundamental reason for countries specifically close to and on the border with Russia to apply to join NATO is that they fear the sort of Russian aggression we have seen in the last few decades. With Putin marching into Ukraine, Georgia, Cheznya, Crimea and numerous other places with impunity you can’t really blame them. |

What are the consequences of breaking international laws though? There are none. Perhaps the odd sanction here and there or maybe a fine but there are no real tangible consequences. The rules based international order only works when countries choose to buy into it and remain compliant. National law has meaning. There is a police force and a CPS and intelligence agencies and a whole judicial system that is universally recognised and has its foundations going back nearly a thousand years. In the last few years we’ve seen Boris Johnson and Sunak being hauled in front of the courts. International law is different. It’s not really law it’s a loose set of agreements to how you should act. This is why the UN and the ECHR and to an extent the EU and all the other supranational quangos, NGO’s and IGO’s are completely toothless to act when someone wilfully decides to ignore agreements made. The likes of Putin and Trump or Kim Jong Un or anybody else cannot be arrested or punished because there is no real “crime” being committed, they’ve just reneged on a loose set of agreements. |

He can consider all he wants, all this is in the public domain. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/ https://theweek.com/99588/tomm https://metro.co.uk/2019/02/13 https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-48 In the interest of balance his side of the story is he does claim that the videos were “banter” and that he was “steamboated” and didn’t really score drugs in Muslim countries. His conviction for possession is a matter of public record though. He may be clean now I don’t know and addiction is obviously a terrible curse but he’s obviously got a long history with drugs and is on record speaking about it himself so i imagine it wouldn’t be easy for him to sue someone to suggest he hasn’t. |

Read earlier it’s the fifth head of state the USA has captured in similar circumstances so it’s not a situation unique to Trump. Used to be commonplace in earlier European times to capture kings, dukes, high ranking nobles of course as it was lucrative to ransom them back. |

He was convicted of possession of cocaine with intent to supply. They brought it up in an American court when he was found entering the country under a false name. There are videos of him bragging about being able to get drugs wherever he goes. “No matter where I’ve gone in the world I score... I’ve gone to f***ing Qatar, to Doha, and scored gear on the sesh while they’re all praying. Everywhere, mate, every city I’ve gone to”. There are also several accounts from people who say he’s constantly on the stuff. He’s also spoken in podcasts about his addiction. |

One up front, selfish wingers. Strikers being deployed to press relentlessly so they’re too knackered to make runs, find space. The list is endless. Everyone wants to be Ronaldo these days, cut in and shoot every time. Eom frustrates the hell out of me. Strikers don’t get anywhere near the service they used to. |

I see the poison dwarf Tommy Robinson is cheering on Trump and his war on drugs. Quite ironic considering he carves through more white powder than the average snowboarder. |

Just goes to show how pointless international law is. Yet we have a government who worship it above the needs of the people they are supposed to represent. |
