Superb defender, been a very good signing, we look more composed with him at the back, and it proves with all his starts not lost a game. |

Much better display today rather than last week's Cardiff bore draw. |

Just like us to be a really consistent strong Championship team able to hold our own at home (something that has been lacking for quite a few seasons), with the hope of one day progressing to the Premier league. |

What I was probably trying to say in a roundabout way was that Marti didn't really gamble on going all out for the win and trying something different may have got us that, but our team is so fragile that in the end we were all probably praying that we just didn't lose. I agree with you you can't cover up our lack of strikers with using defenders, but sometimes throwing it all at it can produce a dividend, but I am not sure that is in Marti's DNA. |

Watching it yesterday, thought he got it all wrong in 2nd half tactically, especially up front and with how we set up with substitutions. We know that Field had to come off getting back to fitness and Lloyd picked up a knock, but the game was calling out for a bold move, when Lloyd went off would have sent Dunne up as centre forward or even Edwards ( he could probably do a job at there), shove Ashby or Bennie at right back. We basically had no presence up front down the middle for last 3rd of the game, Dembele cannot play the centre forward forward role. Cardiff were there for the taking a bit of bold thinking by Marti could have won this game, I do feel he has a certain way to play and does not veer away from this and his substitutions tend to be underwhelming at times. Didn't really see where Bennie was adding value when he took the Korean lad off. |

Liked old Val in the Doors biopic plus a couple of other films, will always be remembered for Top Gun. RIP Mr Kilmer. |

Madsen oh god the real reality for me about him was in the FA Cup game at Leicester, watched him through the fog in the pre-match warm up, thought it was the fog but it actually looked like he was hiding from passes in the triangle practising stuff, now that is worrying. |
 | Forum Reply | Who should have Marti started up front? at 17:36 31 Mar 2025
Put Jimmy Dunne up front, with Dembele and Smyth working around him. Jimmy is more than capable of holding the ball up and heading the ball on and battling away against centre backs. |

You might have a point here, injuries apart there have been some strange away team selections since the Millwall game at the beginning of February. I would even go as far as to say that these away games are being sacrificed to give the punters a better display at Loftus Road. It seems strange that all these last minute injuries and illnesses tend to take place before an away match. |

Sort of ask the question why does Eze need to move from Palace, he gets paid well, enjoys his football they love him and he is winning England caps. If we look at how the rejections before QPR snapped him up and gave him a chance he probably relishes the stability and rise to being a top footballer. Obviously he has ambitions to win things and yes great if he earns a big move and we get a bonus, but it might just not happen, but I suppose we did get a good fee for him 5 years ago. In my mind I sort of hope that when he is in his thirties he comes back to QPR and finishes his career with us. Loved him in a QPR shirt, still like him in a Palace shirt to be honest, quality player all round and still one of ours. [Post edited 30 Mar 5:25]

Pretty much as I see it, looked at that starting line up and thought nothing to see here, especially away to an industrial side like Stoke. The next 3 home games against Cardiff, Bristol City and Swansea which are all winnable and key as our away form is woeful. We might get a point at Oxford but with our lot if they go a goal down it usually is game over. |

Didn't even do the usual VPN stuff to watch this game and went down the pub with my Palace mate to discuss old times and hopefully them winning a trophy. Let's face it you ain't gonna win a game in this league if you play a vertically challenged forward line against big tall fxckers in this league, when I are we going to learn this lesson, no so time me thinks. It's all so predictable, one goal down game lost. URsss |

I am hoping we come back from the international break like we did in November and get the points rolling again. |

Pleased Newcastle won, they seemed at it from the off, whereas Liverpool looked really out of sorts. Regardless of all the ownership issues etc. they deserve success for their passionate supporters. |

He has done a great job, but to be honest we are just an average Championship club with little chance of really pushing for promotion anytime soon. Unless there is a serious injection of cash clubs like ours are just treading water. I sort of liken us to the Preston North End of the south, always in the 2nd tier, dependable but nothing special. |

Yes the gap to the bottom 3 is shortening, a little worrying, we have lost the knack of winning games, maybe the international break might be the reset we need i.e. last time there was a break we lost to Leeds then had the break and we came back and went on a positive run. |
