a thoroughly enjoyable day
at 18:25 14 Sep 2019

I just thought id start a thread to mention this was my second match of the week which makes me a super dooper fan. Sheff U fans were a good bunch. Game was pretty dull with both teams decidely poor but we were less rubbish and deserved it - just. Also loved the area and the antiques shops and picked up a victorian dump (paperweight) and a Georgian solid silver tea pot for a reasonable £340. A very good day all round.

The state of Southampton
at 06:46 11 Sep 2019

The Hoglands- turned into Tesco (or is it a Costa), The Royal Oak knocked down and turned into flats, The plume of feathers now a Buddhist temple, the King Alfred shut, in the Angel asked for a pint of best only to asked “er what’s that”, tramps covering all nations everywhere, being asked if I want to buy aftershave from a carrier bag next to bargate, graffiti all over the parks buildings, st Marys Street looking even shitter than it did 20 years ago.

There’s a shop advertising these services near to my exclusive hotel and I have a calf strain, what should I expect? Will it be a sleazy affair or a respectable service. Has anyone ever experienced this type of thing? Your opinions will be pivotal in my decision to step through the door or not.

The new manager bounce
at 22:00 17 Aug 2019

We had it with Hughes then we found our level, we had it with Hasenhuttl and now it looks like we’re heading back to being rubbish again. A few free cornets and a fanzone don’t even come close to papering over the chronic state the club is now in. When Liebherr cashed in by selling the majority of the club in a deal the FA tried to block it was always going to go like it is. The only uncertainty is what happens when we go down and the premier league life support machine is turned off.

Southamptons best and worst hotels
at 18:10 11 Aug 2019

I’m just doing a little search of trivago and noticed the Winston is still going. Only stayed there once and that was probably 20 years ago and remember it being very basic but adequate to crash out at. Of the b&b’s which is best? Of the chain hotels’s which is best? Which is the worst place nowadays?

Protestors and activists
at 06:07 11 Aug 2019

I was strolling through Nottingham city centre yesterday picking up a few last minute bits and bobs for my luxury Iberian escape, when up ahead spotted a group of what it turned out were climate change/anti capitalist protestors. You’ve never seen such a bunch of scruffy urchins in your life!!! However it’s clearly just a “look” because no genuine poor person from a homeless spice addict to a fat lazy benefits slob dresses like them. Not a pair of Lonsdale tracksuit bottoms or velcro trainers in sight. What they clearly were were middle class youths with names like Pollyanna and Jeremy who were wealthy enough to not only devote their lives to a cause but wealthy enough to dress up in designer tramp attire. Actually when I think about it they’re really no different to Jeremy Corbyn - Fakes who wouldn’t know a genuine working class/poor person if they tripped over one.

Buying at Auctions
at 08:10 27 Jul 2019

Does anyone else enjoy it? I’ve found the best time to buy is now as the numbers in the sale room is much lower when it’s a beautiful warm sunny day outside. Last week I picked up a wonderful teak military chest of drawers from around 1870 for just shy of £1000 including fees. I think that was a good price as similar pieces tend to retail at £1500 plus.

Iran have seized one of our ships. We can’t stand for that, the response is going have to be brutal. I know we aren’t the military force we were but just like with the Falklands they need to feel our full might.
