I have long thought that we need an independent body to analyze and grade referee's performance, without bias or favour. Every club can name referees who will give them a raw deal, every time. The way to expose that is with neutral analysis and numbers, and then pressure the FA to not assign a referee to matches where the numbers show that they just don't like one of the teams playing.
If nothing else, it would make referees think about their performance in ways that they clearly don't now. |
