| News Comment | Southampton Can Now Calm Down And Carry On With New Manager Appointment at 17:02:50
Well considering that we bought loads of players with pace and then played football that compressed the space for them to play into maybe he and his brand of football might just be what we need. And if we had played this style at times last season we might have had some better results. The main thing will be to get some older heads in to the team to keep the younger players organised and a good replacement for Lavia and whoever else leaves. |
| News Comment | Southampton Owners Admit Mistakes Were Made at 13:21:16
I think the whole thing shows a bit of class including the bit about Ward-Prowse it's how most of us feel, if he wants to stay in the Prem who can blame him. But over all it gives me a bit more faith in the owners and hope it goes better in future. |
| News Comment | Who Is Russell Martin? A Saints Fans' Guide To Our Alleged New Manager at 13:47:29
I don't know if this will be a good appointment or not, but this year our team has been crying out for a style of football that gives our forwards the space to run into, but we have played a high press giving them no space and the other teams know we don't have the players to unlock defences with that style of play so they just absorb the pressure and hit us on the break and win the games. Maybe having a change of playing style will help the players we have to play to their strengths. But we will see and hopefully it all work out wonderfully. |
| News Comment | Southampton At Newcastle United The Verdict at 13:04:42
I see our failure very simply we do not seem to have had managers who can organise the team and work with the qualities that we do have. We have players with oace all over the attacking part of our team and we play slow football that means we never play yo our strengths by the time we reach the opponents box they are organised and ready and our team cannot break them down. Even Adam Armstrong who's game is about pace and running the channels looks awful because we don't play the balls for him to benefit from, all of this is why we are where we are. We need to get some solidity and organisation back and we need the right manager for ghat to happen. |
| News Comment | Nathan Jones Expected To Be Confirmed As Southampton Manager Today at 16:45:05
If he plays some direct football as some have said then maybe it will help us as atm we seem to find it impossible to pass forward quickly and by the time we get to the box the other team has their men behind the ball and organised. Maybe the reason we don't score is because of this, so here's hoping that maybe he can bring a new lease of life to our players and onwards and upwards |
| News Comment | Southampton Sack Ralph Hasenhuttl at 18:22:54
They have a chance to get a good manager to push us on and up but don't know if Nathan Jones is the man to do it |
| News Comment | Saints Confirm That Alex McCarthy And Jack Stephens Will Stay at 16:18:45
See I always though Stephens would be better if he moved in to the defensive midfield position as his ability to drive forward with the ball is really good and in the position with central defenders behind him he is less likely to make mistakes that lead to goals |
| News Comment | Saints Indicate Intentions For Next Season at 16:34:34
I do not understand where all the comments about the owners milking the club come from they have not added any debt to the club, if there is debt from the purchase they have taken that personally, and all profits made by the club have made have been left with the club to use. But as with Katherine it does not look as though extra funds will be coming from the owners so in the summer it is about getting rid of those that have not worked out for us and hopefully replacing them well in the positions that need strengthening. |
| News Comment | Saints Fans Need To Stay Calm As Koeman To Everton Stories Hot Up at 22:58:49
I have looked at the articles on this and at the moment there is no proof it's all just speculation and as was said previously started by a Dutch journalist but I still don't buy it yet he has always said the minimum is he would see out his contract and he has always seen out his contracts previously before so I am inclined to believe it now until something solid comes up and we still have him contracted for another year so he couldn't even talk to Everton without our OK |
