Hmmm I'll need to have another look but if that was the case then fairly clever really if he got away with that. I just thought Walsh didn't deal with the ball properly.
Then again for our second goal Kone seemed to be clinging on to two Wrexham players, hence why Cook was totally unmarked to score.
The third goal the ball swerved back towards Walsh right at the last moment and seemed to go through him.
Shame because on the whole I thought he had a good game and had made some good saves. But it was a terrible flap that led to the second goal. Seems none of our keepers are especially good with crosses.
Indeed Dave I'm not sure what people expect from manager (or player) interviews. They're media puff pieces, if you want warts and all honesty then you need to look elsewhere.
It does feel like making substitutions is a bit of a weak area for the manager, but he'll make mistakes just like anyone else. Of course one bad result and everyone is questioning if he should be our manager - sure because changing managers at our club every five minutes really helps...
In the end it was four minutes of madness, the players need to take responsibility for that, and it wasn't for a lack of seniority on the pitch at that point in time!
Cheers Clive. Great game for the neutral...and at least we did our bit for more exposure on the TV show.
Of course the result was bloody annoying. But looking back it's one game out of 46, as mentioned before we're not consistently good enough to bother the top ten (or top half?) of the table, so I don't think it's massively going to affect where we end up come May. Hint - it's probably 16th.
I'll try and focus on the positives from the first half; it was great having Vale start, Madsen was very good throughout, Morgan's energy was a definite bonus (just needs to improve with the ball). Hell even Dembele did alright for once.
Coventry next. Assuming that Dunne will go to RB and we can only hope Edwards is fit enough to start with Cook.
The WLS podcast headline certainly got the Twitter kids' knickers in a twist. Naughty Dave
Already mentioned before re Kone but a) it's adapting to a step up (given his meteoric rise) and b) he needs better conditioning.
Otherwise I think he's got the raw materials to do well for us, and he's a far better prospect than all the other crap strikers we've had over the last ten years.
Ah yes Burslem - nearly got sat on by a police horse there in the post match afters when we lost at Port Vale in '99. Think we all assumed we were relegated until there was a last minute goal somewhere which saved us (meaning to be safe we had to beat Palace in that final game).
Cue Chris Kiwomya with the finest hat trick ever seen (not).
