May go for the three CB and Elyounoussi and Perraud as wing backs. That’s pretty much how we were set up once KWP went off on Wednesday. Not the fixture to give Lewis Payne a run out I don’t think. Bit if a worry meeting top of the league with no experienced right back but time to step up to the plate for someone. |

How about Perraud in at left back and push Moussa forward on the left? Stuey on the right with Che up top and Mara behind? Aribo off the bench for impact. |

Tired of taking on teams with only 8 1/2 players. Redmond is just so ineffective, he takes the sting out of attacks by going to walking pace and then pass backwards. Walcott just runs around aimlessly and when he does get the ball usually it’s taken off him. And Adams gives his all but just cannot finish. Why can’t Ralph see how poor these players are? He must get rid and recruit quality so at least we can take on teams 11 v 11. |

I’ve never seen a team give the ball away as much as Saints did against Everton and one player more than any other......Redmond. Shocking! He should be ashamed but he seems to find every mistake he makes amusing, or that he’s had such bag luck and can’t believe it, is neither, he’s just so very poor. We may as well be playing with ten men and it’s infuriating, one because he’s so bad, and has been for ages, and two, Ralph keeps picking him. |

If Vokins got ‘game time’ today and picked up an injury we’d be in defensive trouble for Tuesday so Bertrand has to play today. And the defence has let in 5 goals since the start of December, give it a rest about Jack Stephens. |
| News Comment | Southampton At Leicester City The Preview at 11:05:17
If Romeu is fit I can see him playing in a 442 with Diallo in the middle, JWP could then play on the right and Armstrong on the left, quite a strong but still creative midfield. That leaves Adams and Theo up top. |

I think this is more Man U pushing for a loan deal as they’ve realised they’ve got a third option player on 65K, I ask myself is he actual that good? He’s definitely not 65K good! He may well be in 5 years time but not at the moment. So Saints could be using the fact that poor Man U need to get him out on loan in order to get RB to sign. Saints won’t take him on those wages, maybe pay half of them for a season and if he did come he would have to drop way down the money list for all the reason Nick suggests. Then again there is the fact that he’s actually right footed but plays mainly on the left, if he’s just as capable on the right then he could be doubly valuable especially as YV hasn’t quite cut the mustard. 🤔 |
| News Comment | Agent's Claims About Brazilian Transfer To Southampton Seem Strange at 16:01:46
No we’re not interested in this type of player, it’s got waste of money written all over it .... now if he was 21 maybe! Nick could you do a piece on how Brexit has changed the transfer market? I’ve always noticed that our 1st team seems to have more English/British players than other teams and I wonder if this is now a benefit? |
| News Comment | Saints At Arsenal The Verdict at 12:12:40
Agree that the disappointment I felt last night does say how well we’re playing and the expectation that brings. I haven’t shouted at the TV that much for ages as I did in the last 20 minutes, what I found frustrating was that our skilful front players kept bashing away from wide areas time and again without success. Not once did any of them have the intelligence to collect the ball with back to goal in a more central area to try and draw a foul, it seemed so obvious to me. We have at our disposal the best exponent of a free kick in the PL, just a quick word from the tactical box surely to try something different. Maybe we’re not used to dominating games just yet and this new found confidence will progress into clever and more intricate tactics in time. Loving the way they’re fizzing the ball around in triangles to play out from the back, it’s all very exciting and emotive watching. COYS |
| News Comment | Great News As Injury Doubt For Newcastle Trains at 11:35:41
This is great news and gives us the option of playing three at the back bringing in Jack, takes the full back problem away with Kyle and Nathan playing a wingback role. Seems a good idea to me!! |
| News Comment | Saints V Everton The Verdict at 19:25:36
What a great performance by a very disciplined Saints team, great to watch and for a change, not stressful in the last quarter. I disagree with the pundits though, my MOTM was Romeu, quietly went about his business with total control. Only weak link for me was Redmond, lots of work rate but no end product at all, so frustrating, how he got the plaudits from the SKY team I’ve no idea. If this team keeps growing in confidence?? |
