Morning! I am just about to head off to Bower Fold for the u18s game between Rochdale & Fleetwood and then obviously I'll head over to Spotland afterwards. Hoping for two good wins (although two wins will do). Before I go, (non-football related) - in case anyone is a reader, I just wanted to let you know that my latest fictional ebook is FREE to download on Amazon for a few days (starting this morning). It is set in Rochdale. I'm not plugging it to make money (as it's FREE), I just want people to read it. If anyone has a KINDLE or any sort of device that has the KINDLE app on, the link is :- mybook.to/calvinwrainbow Cheers! |

Neild is a local lad. The former Northern Irish schoolboy international you are referring to is probably Keith Kearney. He was a second year scholar last year and went out on loan to Chorley and Radcliffe. No longer at the club. |

Not in a position to give you an in depth answer but as far as I am aware they are both from the Greater Manchester area. If you look through the team sheet on Twitter, there are a lot of 'exotic' names but a lot of them are local lads. Their parents and grandparents may originally have been from other areas though. |

Prior to Dale's excellent draw at Millwall the Youth Team also had a great result, a 2-0 victory over Wigan Athletic in the North West Youth Alliance League. I believe Wigan had won their last 11 League games and had a chance to take a first half lead, when they were awarded a penalty, but from the resultant spot kick Dale's keeper, Brad Wade, made a strong save to his left to keep the scores level at half time. In the second half, Rochdale had the wind on their backs (at Stalybridge Celtic's Bower Fold) and were the side who looked more likely to break the deadlock, creating several good opportunities. The pressure was rewarded with two quality strikes from Fabio Tavares and Neil Kuemo. Wigan's lead at the top of the League has been trimmed from 8 points to 5 points (and Dale have two games in hand) which should make for an entertaining run in. [Post edited 27 Jan 2018 19:34]

Having seen a dozen or so games this season (and many more over the last few seasons), home and away, I'm surprised that there seem to be more negative than positive comments on here about Josh Lillis extending his contract. He may not be De Gea but he is a very good, solid keeper and you only have to look at the Forum averages for each player this season to see he is up there amongst the most consistent Dale players in a tough campaign. He does make the odd error but near enough every keeper does - even Cech who was the model of consistency when playing behind the best defence in the Premier League at Chelsea, suddenly doesn't look as amazing at Arsenal. Personally, I think it's good news for the club and agree with the fans who say he wouldn't have played the amount of games he has, if he wasn't a good keeper. |

Yes, both Keith Hill and Coleman were there. |

The u18s had beaten Accrington Stanley 5-2 a fortnight before so Accie set up differently this time. They played five at the bank to reduce the impact of Rochdale's fast forwards and played on the counter attack. Unfortunately Accie scored in the first five minutes (the ball falling to an Accie player after hitting the crossbar) and despite dominating the game for much of the 90 minutes, Rochdale couldn't break them down. It was a frustrating night as Rochdale are top of the North West Youth Alliance League and Accrington Stanley are mid-table but the u18s will need to learn to adapt to teams who play them on the counter. |

As well as the main Academy squad, there is also a 'Development' squad, perhaps he is the keeper for them? Good luck to him! |

The Youth team updates are on a separate Twitter feed and are updated for every match. Reagan doesn't appear to be at Rochdale or if he is, he is in a younger age group. There is a You Tube clip of someone of that name training in the USA but can't find any links to him here. Bit confused by this one. |
