You have to hand in to OO it's clever what he has done - it's a bit like getting a selection box - separating the orange creams from the praline cracknel's and then saying only the praline cracknel's are for sale but at a price which no one will buy them at!
Can I throw in a couple of curveballs .. late entry from Nigel Clough and what about Nigel Adkins who was always rumoured to be coming but never quite made it.
TAM - very well said - anyone expecting next season will be anything other than a bonding session between 16 unknown players is kidding themselves. Clubs that have got in the play offs, missed out on them or been promoted are already knitted and ready to go. We're already miles behind even at this stage. All we can hope for a is decent Aug/Sep and hope that whoever comes in creates some bond between the players which we can push on from.
Have to say that I greeted the news of QPR's demise with a very broad smile today. Don't like anything about that club and maybe only West Ham are above them in terms of unpleasantness. Maybe it's something in the Cockney Water (Peckham Springs?)
Wigan's plight has bemused me all season. OK they've had problems with Whelan and McKay off the field but they had enough decent players and a good manager to see them out of this (in the same way Birmingham and Bolton did).
In some ways there are some crumbs of comfort in the fact they are coming down with us!
Come on then .. your challenge is to find 36 points from the next 22 games! I found 35 whilst being ridiculously optimistic .. would 49 keep us up!!

Don't venture over here that much but actually this thread alone is a good example of why this site should work - well thought out intelligent replies and an interesting tangent to the o/p which is that we've stopped talking about the football long ago. That said if they gave us something to talk about then surely we would?
I had a game of golf on Boxing Day - forced by the Father in Law - what a truly dull sport that is! It's the most pretentious sport in the world with people thinking because they dress like they're a 1970's reject that they are somehow superior. Waste of space and hope it snows next Boxing Day!
