Why a new GK and LB?

Walsh was pencilled in as first choice, got injured and has come back as first choice. Cooper is on loan again, in L1. And Hamer got a new contract in Jan. Salamon was highly rated. Is that still true?
I do think Nardi will go, but we're hardly short of options.
Same at LB. RND is only on.loan, but is well out of the picture at Bramall Lane. Esquerdinha is yoing and improving. Larkeche won't be out forever. And we've just signed an Aussie U17 International.

If you can find better options, all well and good. Otherwise, we stick with what we already have.

In Thailand ATM, so getting up at 2am to watch was never going to happen. I didnt think wed win, based on their Cat 1 credentials. It does sound like we made a decent game of it - after the 2 early goals.

Is there going to be a highlights video?

Pretty fair.
Recruitment does seem better targeted than previously. Compare this season to last, as a good example.
Finding buyers for the likes of Kelman, Dykes and now Frey is a real positive.
Sponsorship is up.
Communications often comes across as robotic.
100 people with Performance in their job titles and we end up with half the first team out for weeks/months. A root and branch review is needed. I dont care if the U16s and below + the Women's team have 98% availability. It's the First Team that counts.

Solid professional. Gave it his all. Technically limited and completely lacking pace., which made his impact disappointing.. sounds like he did gar more than we know, off the pitch.
I wish him well and would welcome him back. As a supporter.

Harry Amass who was on loan from Man U to Sheff Wed has joined Norwich on loan. I thought he looked decent against us.
Owls losing Bannan and Amass could mean their points total will remain negative all season.

Given the grappling and fouling by Kabore at EVERY corner, is there anything to prevent a ref from calling it what it surely is - a foul and a penalty?

OK give the defender a warning first. But after the 3rd/4th time, draw a line and blow up. I believe the ball would need to be in play, but that shouldnt cause a major issue, as the wrestling always continues.

Mebengue's red changed the game. He does need to learn a level of restraint, instead of diving in. We dropped far too deep. If the fitness levels were better we'd have taken the sting out of their push. Might have conceded 1 but not 2. Basicallywe ran out of bodies to close down the Wrexham scorers. And partly that was because nobody had the energy to get out.

Ok I accept they were 2 cracking strikes but we need to learn to close down. Even in 94th minute.

Compared to the home game, that was positively exhilarating.
I thought we were more likely to win than lose it, but not to be. Bank another point and move on.

5% cash + 3% in goods is a decent return. You may get better but not in many places, nor without higher risks.

I think we get it Burnley. You don't rate Kone which is your opinion.
Remember how far he's come already and it's quite remarkable that he's capable of 6 goals this season. He's still only 23, so, potentially, there's still development to come.
Wouldn't it be good to see him bang in a couple tonight and we'll all be happy.

Is the season over?

We're only 4 points off a play off place. There's 19 games to go and, if we approach those games with a competitive attitude, why not dream of top 6.
Sure, for now, injuries are an issue. Other clubs could have the same issue in the next 4 months.
For me, a top 10 finish is very achievable. Frankly, I don't think we are a top 6 side, but it's so close, why not?

January transfer rumours
at 22:05 19 Jan 2026

Defensive options, even without Morrison , are Dunne, Cook, Edwards, Mbengue, and Smith for the CB roles. Akindeleni has just gone on loan to Morecambe. Wilkie is an outside bet and Field could play CB. And, 1 day, JCS might be fit. Although the latter is just a malicious rumour.

If you move Mbengue to CB, you can play Morgan or Adamson at RB.

Morrison deserves his chance to compete for a world cup squad place.

Not Dave, as if you didn't know.
He's an American, 6'4" signed Summer 25, and has 7 goals already.
